RTÉ admits paying Tubridy €345,000 more than declared

Haven't been able to follow the thread this afternoon but have had the TV on in the background.

If I have one takeout from the proceedings its this: Bakhurst has to lay down a marker to the licence payers and NK and has to get rid of Tubridy this Friday ( if Tubs' dramatic statement is to be believed).

Patrick Kielty has the LLS covered and Callan is doing fine on Radio 1. So there's no need for Ryans particular set of skills.

If Bakhurst doesn't fire him then he's on the back foot straight away. Fire him and he sets a marker for RTE employees and us.

Tubridy made a mistake by mentioning it. His admission that he's willing to return the €150,000 also means he's running scared.

Agreed Kelly is done after this and it would not surprise me if Revenue take a look at what invoices he has passed through each company he owns, given he basically said he puts them through whichever one is convenient at the time.

Howvever I believed what they presented tody in the pack of documens in erms of who knew what when. The circle to square is why Brenda O Keefe denied knowledge when her name was all over the email. She has been utterly thrown under the bus here today when she came across as very credible last week. Something isnt right. Is it semantics? Did they walk back the agreement after that email? So by the time she left she understood that it was not part of the agreement and then Dee Forbes honored it?

Backhurst was on Today FM and it's obvious Tubs will not be back. He hasn't figured out how to get rid yet. He also said he did not authorize the statement from RTE this morning. Still a **** show in RTE. He did say he has coffee with NK in the past!

Richard BB made it sound as though poor Kelly got cornered into dodgy accountancy by his very greedy client, with or without the connivance of RTE. It's interesting watching them all turn on each other.

I think the country would be a better place if we got rid of RT, NK and their collaborators.
