When I contact tech support in mydevice chat, was told to take it straight out and format - this was not mentioned on skimpy instruction leaflet showing how to insert SD card. Also told that I should not in fact I stall any apps on SD card, only photos and video and files.
This phone is on the eircom network on a package including broadband and wifi.
The phone itself works great as a hotspot.

Update
The battery cannot be taken out of this phone. Also apparently a 5G phone but more interested myself in solid connection and good bandwidth when using hotspot.
