Pretty sure that to be a dentist you have to go to college...

And im pretty sure to be a plumber you have to do a 4 year apprenticeship along with college....

Most babies are not born with these talents...

    I could be wrong.....lol lol

Great logic, her da was a good broadcaster, so she is too.

That logic always follows of course. Footballers, singers, athletes, teachers, electricians.

Slight difference they are private businesses.. they also require trained skills and qualifications. I won't even bother with the god given nonsense.

Have you actually seen/heard Lottie Ryan presenting? She is a blathering idiot, she wouldn't get a job in hospital radio without her surname.

It's a big difference between a dentist training for years and Lottie putting a pair of headphones on and reading out a few sentences. Very little talent required to do that.

You clearly know very little about genuine mental health issues. Not the sob stories pushed by idiots as an excuse, but recognised disorders. Given the damage she has done, it's natural that she would feel anxious, stress and depressed but that's not necessarily a health issue. People experience a variety of emotions as part of everyday life from grief through to euphoria, guilt to nonchalance. It is when these emotions are compounded in a negative feedback loop causing chemical imbalance in the brain to instigate an episode that is the issue, not when someone feels a bit bad/sad.

Suing someone is the last thing a person with genuine mental health issues will be thinking about. All it does is bring additional stress and pressure. Most people who are struggling through a diagnosed mental health episode cannot function as normal, hence it being called a mental illness.

But that guy Pierre zakrzewski was an independent camera man he wasn't working for RTE, unfortunately he got killed near the start of Ukrainian war

She got the job in the first place to much fanfare because of her name and nothing to do with her talent. Maybe you could say been a runner on a show was enough to walk into a job in RTE but I think you will find all the other people looking for that role would disagree and had a lot more experience.

If she worked for any other company she would have been fired after 12 months for poor performance. They have shoved her into multiple different roles and she has failed at all of them.

Even the dancing show the public didn't vote for her and it was other RTE employee who saved her on multiple occasions. Her "win" was supposed to be the start of her career on TV and that didn't happen.

Lottie will be 60, still doing a showbiz section on 2FM and trying to make out she is an 18 year old.

Nobody like picking on one person, Im sure she will say it is online abuse etc. But really she is just the face of how corrupt RTE is, if she actual had talent she would leave and show everyone at another station, problem is everyone has seen her ratings and no other station wants her

Let’s get some things clear here, back in the 80’s there was a few hundred thousand South siders, if not half a million or more, who voted for Charlie Haughey despite knowing he was trying to import arms from Ghadaffi. So those people are responsible for implicitly backing the murder and terror up north. That assortment of hangers on and cling ons, have blood on their hands and they indeed prospered from it.

I see them around today and many of them think they are superior despite being civil/public servants. They are subordinate. They go around in their fashion designer outfits trying to make socialism cool and stylish and trick people into thinking it earns money for the economy. And now Tubridy is using the law to get tough against the public backlash against him/them. They need a reality check.

Awful comparison. She's not working for the Gerry Ryan Broadcasting Corporation. She got a job in RTE because her name is 'Ryan' and her Dad worked there.

Talent is a God given gift.

That's at least the second time you've used this line in this thread. Just because you keep saying it doesn't make it true.

You’re claiming she could not sue because she is also claiming that her health is suffering. There’s no need for your explanation. Nowhere does it say a person suffering with mental health issues cannot function.

as for Dee: only she knows how she is. I don’t. And I do not believe she ever said that she’s suffering with a mental illness

I was simply correcting a nonsense that just because you’re suffering health wise means you cannot function.

so remove Dee: it could be anyone. Are you saying a person who is suffering with their mental health cannot therefore bring about legal proceedings against someone or some thing?

And that’s the point. Manifestos. The type of thing you state sponsored socialists adhere to. You want more of other peoples money. Privatise RTE or let it sink. That’s my feelings.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,280 ✭✭✭ZookeeperDub

You can't privatise RTE. Ireland needs a national broadcaster.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,122 ✭✭✭Gen.Zhukov

Just cause they were removed doesn’t mean they aren't represented by NKM?

Yes of course, I know that - It is either...contractors are asking to be removed as brand NKM is becoming more toxic or, Noel Kelly is removing them to try to hide the fact that he has such a hold on the broadcasting industry - although it's a bit late for that

She can sue RTE if they are telling lies and she wasn't the route of all evil in this issue

RTE could also counter sue for illegal dealing while in her position. If they are in fact paying Tubs without contracts in place and she was the person who arranged and got this payments made then RTE would have a case against her.

I doubt either will happen. Dee was aware of this issue since March. When she probably tipped off Tubs so he had a chance to jump ship. My reading on this was someone had to take the fall for this mess and she was going anyway so she took it. Also if she appears before the review boards then more will come out so its better she hides while the others can just point the finger at her all the time and not admit what actually happened.

Do you honestly think none of the RTE board and Dee are currently in communication?

I was simply wondering about a poster's claim/incredulity about someone who says they are feeling unwell health-wise, therefore could not possibly entertain the idea of bringing about legal proceedings. I found that off.

Yes. Prices have gone up since then so 500M not a bad guess I'd say.

What exactly do we need a national broadcaster for? I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you. I’d like to establish what people think is needed as part of a national broadcaster. It certainly isn’t Fair City and celebrity Bainisteoir

I’d suggest once that’s established we split that from the rest of the crap. Have it directly tax funded and non profit, with a fully transparent budget. No adds.

The rest, along with the late late and other crap can go into a commercial private entity. They can charge people to subscribe and let people choose if they want it. Have all the car and tampon adds they can get and pay whoever they want as much as they want.

I’d imagine you’d find those that think Tubbers is ‘worth it’ will suddenly find their valuation dropping when they need to generate the revenue themselves.

Don't be ridiculous. Nobody has the right to inherit a position at a public body

Nepotism is a scourge. It promotes unqualified people to positions of power where they reign with a sense of entitlement knowing that they can't be challenged unless they screw up massively.

Its bad enough in a privately owned company, but in state owned services, it should not be allowed.

This is why there are processes in place for applying for any public jobs, but everyone knows that strings will be pulled to get the nephew or son or daughter's foot in the door and once they're in, they can be promoted to whatever role they feel they're entitled to

If Tubs appears before the PAC, he'll get a his highest TV view rating ever.

They really do inhabit a parallel universe in RTE.

They're not moving fro Montrose. The move would cost hundreds of millions anyway.

I think it'll be a record for Oireachtas TV but maybe not Toy Show ratings levels yet :)

I remember being a random country pub and that was their background \ wallpaper channel during the day.
