Cleaning Cloudy Headlamps

Could someone please let me know what is the name of the Paste to clean cloudy headlamps? Is it available in Motor Factor shops?

TIA.

I got a kit last time I did mine, lasted the 2 years or so I had the car. I used the AutoGlym kit, it requires a cordless/electric drill for the pad. I believe Meguiares also have one. They are widely available.

Toothpaste is just as good and a lot cheaper!!!

In my experience toothpaste actually does a better job than those kits - all they are is a fine compound.

I had mine just about done with toothpaste then got a borrow of some G3 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Farecla-AG3-700-Advanced-Liquid-Compound/dp/B003J10S36/ which did a really nice job. All done by hand didn't find any need for power tools.

I think that would work. Make a pad of it, and be prepared to bin it after.

Rub in small circles and clean after a small bit just to check it is working.

No just wipe, what you are doing is polishing the surface of the plastic lens. When doing this by hand with toothpaste or polishing compound you need to apply pressure and polish in small circles. When I do this I use a 75mm buffer which does a great job. For the final polishing step apply water to the paste and polish as quickly as you can for a clean finish

They’ll need a uv protection after, or you might find you’ve to do it again in a few months.

Assuming its on the outside , when they mention toothpaste a gritty one that has a bite .
