New wipers leaving smudge

So I got these new Bosch AeroTwin wipers today. They leave a smudge on the entire front windshield at the first and second wipe but start to work effectively afterward.

Any idea how to resolve this issue?

Make sure they are seated correctly in the holders, then lift from screen and wipe rubbers with a damp cloth or sponge.

They are seated correctly, I heard the click to indicate they are fully in.

I will clean with a sponge 🧽 tomorrow.

It could also be your windscreen that is grubby and the new blades are just picking up the dirt that the old blade didn't due to them being worn.

What windscreen washer fluid are you using?

I can tell you one thing it isn't an issue with Bosch Aerotwin blades they're the best in the business, have them on my car over 2 years and they're still perfect.

I am using Halfords yellow coloured -20 Celsius washer liquid.

I read the excellent reviews of Aerotwin and got them. I am sure I will be happy with them.

sounds counterintuitive, but try wiping the blade with a cloth you've sprayed some WD40 onto.

Only thing I do is wipe them with water and a microfibre every once in a while.

I personally wouldn't go at them with wd40 or any form of oil or grease I reckon they'd create more problems than they'd fix

I have the same wipers and on my car they "dragged" and created a squeaking sound. Was very annoying. What car is it OP?

I had the same problem also, and they go to crap really quick.

I need good wipers as I am driving across the back roads of clare every morning and it’s deadly in the winter with glaring lights and stuff.

in the end I went to a dealer and got a pair of wipers, which solved the problem.

Might seem crazy, but they are made different , you pay a premium over generic ones, but not one streak, and 6 months later and there still isn’t any streak.

i know wd40 sounds counterintuitive, but the job it's doing there is to thin out and remove much gummier stuff; wd40 itself won't last long at all on windscreen wipers.

They are they are are Audi ( VAG )

I Compared them to the Bosch ones that I had put on a few months before hand, same as the ones you have and you can see the difference, there is a bigger metal strip , and there are metal clips along the wiper and they perform much better.

aftermarket never seem to work as good as OEM.

The new Bosch wipers are grand now. They needed a bit of rain. Working smoothly now.

I replaced wipers on Leaf with these and had similar issues from the start. Disappointed with them tbh, the driver side wiper will scrabble across screen for everything other than heavy rain and will also happen at higher speeds. Not that it's much of an issue with a Leaf😅

Whereas I used Ford branded wipers on smax and they are perfect.
