Thanks!!! As far as I know I don't have blended in appeals.

    Are u going DSP?

As far as I was told, after 3 months in the appeals office you get 1 day WFH. But there is an aim for that to move to 2/3 days WFH in the new year

My partner in under consideration for an EO position in AGS (Dublin). Does anybody know what an EO would do in the AGS, also how is their Blended Scheme /working hours? Do they do shift work or is it usual office hours? Thanks.

So sorry to hear you don’t have blended. That’s crap. Yes I just started DSP. I have flexi but no blended for at least 9 months.

The 9 month wait for blended is excessive.

Other departments are offering it after one month.

Anyone know who I should contact regarding my pay? Raised a ticket with NSSO and got nothing. Over a month as an EO, still on CO pay.

Get onto your HEO and AP about your pay.

Colleague of mine was waiting 4 months for his EO pay to kick in. Huge backlog with People Point.

@Kurokishi are you still getting paid weekly? I've been assigned as of today and have deductions coming out of my weekly pay so just wondering if I need to rush into getting that changed to fortnightly anytime soon.

    Thanks

there is blended working in the appeals office after 3 months, and then in the new year they will be pushing more days from home.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes the personnel unit to contact you with a start date? I just received a notification today that I have been placed but the email said that personnel section would be in contact shortly with more information such as the area and start date.

@One Winged Angel in my case I was placed last Thursday and had an email from my department HR Friday afternoon with start date location etc.. think it might depend on the department too.

Does anyone know if you are waiting for your EO salary to kick in. And in the meantime you reach the date of your co increment, if you will get the increment?

I started as a CO after being successful in their national open competition last year, I'm still on my 1 years probation, I'm working in a small office where there are no EOs at present. I'm now under consideration for am EO position with this competition and so will be accepting it, my CO contract doesn't state how much notice I must give my current office, does anyone know if its just a week as I'm only on a probationary contract

I have no experience of AGS but from what I have been reading it appears that there is no WFH available.

I was in the same position and it is only 1 week as per your contract. I decided to see it out and pass the probation and left a couple of days after being there one year. I thought it would be better for a lot of reasons. Including if I ever went back to that department in future. Also make sure you don't put down the Friday on your notice if you are starting the Monday, put down the Sunday or it will count as you breaking your service.

Generally the 2 HR departments will come to an agreement. I wouldn't stress too much about, just tell your line manager when you get assigned

You could be doing anything, depending on where you are appointed. HR, Finance Officer, managing evidence in a station, making sure pulse is updated correctly and all incidents are reviewed are just some of the possible roles. The work is so varied it's impossible to say until you know exactly where you're going, whether it's a station, specialist unit or headquarters in the Phoenix Park.

Six months to ensure you’re on the correct pay? What?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43 Maripepe

Thanks very much. What is worrying us is that we are moving to Roscommon town soon, and it would be great if he could work in a blended scheme basis. I am not sure if AGS has a blended scheme policy.

Help!!! I was offered my existing department on the interdepartmental. Rang PAS to say thanks but no thanks I’ll wait for the open. They told me if I turn this down I’m off both!?!? Is this true? I know people who have done this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 69 ✭✭Poolbabe

If you turn down an offer that's it. U would have to apply again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3 JT2000

If you are offered an EO role in open competition in a department you really do not want, do you have any right of appeal?

How do PAS allocate successful candidates to departments? If someone has loads of previous experience in Finance can you expect to be sent to Finance, Revenue, or Enterprise maybe? Or is it just luck of the draw... next up, next vacancy....

    Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 983 ✭✭✭furrybones

In short, no, you don't have a right to appeal. That's the nature of the competition. You don't even find out where you're going until you're assigned a department. Previous experience is also irrelevant.

If you turn down an offer you are taken off the panel.

Wow that's tough. And kinda wasteful of PAS. If they've got a candidate with knowledge, qualifications and experience in a certain field and deploy them somewhere completely unrelated. Is there any explanation or oversight or understanding of how they decide?

Agree with this comment 100%......I can't understand why they don't try and match people for roles that they would be suitably qualified for and have experience in.
