Great stuff that Collinite 845. Small bit goes a long way which makes it very cheap, easy to apply by hand if don’t have a polisher and gives a great finish too.

I washed the car with turtle wax zip wax over the weekend and it came out excellent. Was needed, lack of rain was taking its toll.

Yes very easy to apply and buff off. And doesn't matter if comes in contact with plastics, no whitening like waxes of old. Love the water beading..

Also got my first snow foamer the other day, one that attaches to a standard hose. Never bothered with one before, but makes car easy to wash in one go when not too dirty.

You’ll find future washes will be much easier now, especially the towel drying at the end as the wax will push final rinse off the car

Tesla do a kit for this. I need to look into something for my blue Model Y, but it only seems to be available in white. I have 2 stone chips on the bonnet 🤕

I've been getting flashes again from oncoming drivers and I suspect the headlights have raised a little, perhaps losing the clicks the ranger put on them after adjusting post-fog light installation. Do you recommend the autolevel function when facing a vertical wall on a flat surface or do you go through the full process of taping the height of the lights at present on the wall, taping where they should be, and adjusting with clicks for each side?

Another one to check out, got some touch-up paint from them before.

I’m not. But I would consider the Apple Watch app. Only they put the price up from like a fiver to over €20.

Indont want it that much 🤣

The dipped lights on my Model 3 are very poor. When I am not blinding people on a bend, then the beam is too low to see anything in front of you. Mine has been checked by Tesla and set up on their marked wall at Sandyford, but was worse after they did that. They say the lights may need to be refocused and they will need car for whole day. Will get around to it someday before the longer nights..

(actually days will be getting shorter from tomorrow)..😋

I have used mild car polish (Autoglym) before to clean windscreen glass, and it worked OK. These days I use autoglym Fastglass cleaner first, then the Autoglym glass polish.

I'm hoping to do it this weekend, as I too am getting a kind of misting on the screen when it's raining.

theres a few videos on YouTube that show how to do it up against a wall, but for me, I just auto level them when parked in my local Tesco (assuming the ground is reasonably level). I used to do it manually by adjusting each side up or down as required, but was doing it while reversed up my driveway at a slight incline, so I was still noticing them high and getting flashed regularly.. so now I find the best way is just park on a level surface, and if possible pointing towards a wall, and if the right beam is slightly lower than the left beam after they self level, I just exit out of the menu and don't make any further adjustments.. (I should note though that I have a 2020 Model 3 with the pre matrix lights if that makes any difference).

    Hello.

Anybody have experience using Thule ProRide 598 bike rack on the Model 3 roof bars?

Does it fit ok. Easy to get on etc?

    Thanks.

The 1st app you should get is PlugShare.. Its a user based app which shows all public chargers along with what apps you need to use them, and also has photo's for reference, as well as recent user check-in's (so you can see how reliable they are and if any recent issues etc...). Use PlugShare to scout out locations where you might visit and need a charge (brown are DC fast chargers and green are AC chargers).

The main one would be ESB eCars - sign up for a prepay account (must have at least €20 in the account to initiate a charging session), and use their app and they'll also send you an rfid card

After that I'd suggest EasyGo (next big one after eCars), and again, probably a prepay account there would suffice, you have to pay them for an raid fob, but I don't have one and the app alone would probably suffice (I'd use them rarely, but always handy to have an account with).

Then Ionity, but they are few and far between (I've only used them twice in Ireland in over 3 years) (many different apps work with Ionity, I use Chargepoint, who also sent me an rfid card).

Applegreen seem to be moving in the right direction with decent sites coming online (although expensive (as are Ionity)), AG have an app thats almost identical to the ESB eCars app, but they also allow tap to pay at the chargers but this will incur a €30 hold placed on your payment card, using their app avoids this block.

CircleK are only getting into the game, and only allow tap to pay so no card/app needed there (but they have a scant offering so far)

Yes, there are many, many others

Ecars would be the main one in Ireland covering about 70% of all charge points

Easygo is handy for the chargers at Lidl and some other locations, about 20% of the countries chargers would be covered by them

Most of the other 10% are covered by plugsurfing, chargepoint, shell recharge, Applegreen Electric

All the above have apps and most also have cards. There are also dedicated threads to most of them on this website. I suggest you have a flick through before you start your journey

Any charge brand you come across that is not listed above will have details on the machine

Get RFID cards where possible as a backup as sometimes the apps dont play nice. I always use RFID cards as I cant be bothered opening up my phone.

The only exception is the older green ESB 50kw units, which often have card reader problems.

Of course none of this applies to Superchargers!

Is plug and charge available to Tesla's on the Ionity network?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,614 ✭✭✭eagerv

    No, only on Tesla Superchargers.

Tesla of course can use any CCS fast chargers, but will need an app or whatever for non SuC.

A new feature, not sure if only after update 2023.20.4.1, you can now preview all 7 cameras on the car.

Menu. Service. Scroll down to Camera preview.

Try a reboot again. No need to pull over. All functions still work while rebooting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57 ✭✭Heinz57

I had exactly the same thing happen. Thought it was related to the software update. (Tho must confess, there was an initial minutevor so of panic!!!).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57 ✭✭Heinz57

Didn't realise that - that's good to know. I knew the car was driving, but wasn't sure if it was safe to do so. I rebooted on the spot before venturing out.

Did Tesla remove the parking sensors from the model 3?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,646 ✭✭✭Redfox25

    Yes, they did remove sensors

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 41,121 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

Yes, months ago. They use an imaginary system called tesla vision now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,896 ✭✭✭✭AndyBoBandy

yes, definitely report it via the app.

I used to the odd time have a situation where the screen might take a few seconds to wake up, but this is happening when you start driving?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,896 ✭✭✭✭AndyBoBandy

whenever that happened to me, I found a few taps of the brake pedal and a few pulls of the stalk to try and get in into gear would always do the trick and wake the screen up...

Either way I'd report it if it keeps happening and the above tricks don't work..

That should not be happening. The new Ryzen chip is super fast, for me anyway the startup time is instantaneous and has has never gone blank in 15 months driving.

As others have said, report it. They will be able to see remotely what is causing it..
