I've hit the stage where carrying my bag is starting to become a real pain in the bollocks back. Time to invest in an electric trolley I think.

Do any of you have a Golf Glider? They look a bit cheaper than the more mainstream brands.

Is there any reason not to get one?

They don't seem to have a strap, so are there certain bags that just won't fit? Like if I went into McGuirks and picked up any cart bag, would it fit, or would I need to be careful?

With the lack of strap, do bags have a tendency to slip around sideways on the cart?

    Have one, it's decent

The bag holding system works most of the time, should work with any bag, but not as secure as a strap, but less hassle

Brand new it's still pricey enough but seems bomb proof really and you can get spare parts, lads have them 20 years at least or more

    Plenty of second hand ones

Golf glider body will last for years too, mines a good few years old now and a new battery 3 years ago along with a on / off switch is all I’ve had to change in at least 15 years.

Can't recommend GG enough. I have a Micro Lite since 2007 and its still going strong. I've replaced a few screws and clips over the years but they're bulletproof. The lack of strap isn't really an issue but there are a couple of bags that don't quite fit on it. Personally I've found that the newer Titleist bags don't quite sit into the top holder but my Ping one does. Definitely worth bringing your bag to check. I was buying a new bag last year and took my glider into the shop to try for size and in fairness most bags did sit on it fine, I'm just a bit weird in wanting the dividers to be a certain way and the hood to open a certain way, the putter slot to be in a particular place etc on my bag, so it was more me than the glider that ruled out a lot of bags !!

The guys in Glider are great to deal with and incredibly helpful etc.

Golf Glider are Irish and based in Dundrum with a small (not so sure you could even call it a showroom?) 😀 but really nice guys to deal with.

Regarding bags not fitting, mine doesn't exactly fit on my microlite but it's never really an issue. the only time it might be a bit of an issue is on a hilly course and i park it wrong, but it was easily fixed with a small bungy cord around the bottom of the bag.

i'd say as per above i have mine about 15+years. lithium battery i have on it now is going strong since summer 2017. have replaced tyres once, cabling once and switch. not bad maintenance over it's lifetime and repairs were not in any way expensive

oh and i would have always considered golf glider to be a mainstream brand.
