This ref is poor. Definite easy mark score for kildare that he missed.

Watching Roscommon...what the hell position does a footballer want to be in to take on a shot. Really is awful to watch how many chances are passed up in the modern game.

What the hell is the referee’s problem with Ryan O’Donoghue? Cork have an extra man

Kildare's tackling is poor, playing with fire and got harshly punished for the first black, but the second one was textbook black - in fact that second one (deliberate pull down inside the 21 yard line) should have been a penalty.

The refs and authorities have to attack the time wasting, IMHO if a player stops the game for a head injury then that player should have to leave for minimum 10 minutes for a HIA.

That defender with 2nd black card is headless.

Roscommon were on a break away a few mins previous and he dived in to try and get the ball and took himself out of the game and let O Carroll in on goal, lucky to only concede a point

Cork player there took far more steps than Carr took at the other end which resulted in a free against Mayo.

delighted with that opening half from Cork. Loads of complaints about the ref from Mayo fans, I think he’s being very very fair for both teams

Well we shouldn’t be, Mayo have been awful, completely flat!

Agree, I thought ye’d destroy us tbh. Awful turnovers

Delighted seeing Louth getting annihilated by Kerry.

As always opposition teams make better changes and adjustments in the 2nd half leaving Cork behind. So predictable.

    Penalty? Really?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 731 ✭✭✭Carol25

And now a clear red card not given to Cork for a clear strike to the head on Jack Carney.

Faloon very inconsistent. One minute letting play develop and the next blowing it up.

outstanding fight from this cork team, delighted with the performance

I switched off and flicked back on. Assumed Smyth MOTM meant the Rossies won. Then realised it is like the Soccer MOTM!

Ah seriously though I would say Roscommon pulled up when they heard the Dublin - Sligo result. I suppose Glen Ryan can put a spin on it for Kildare. Even though it was only a consolation win.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

And it looks like Kerry will top group 1

Cork went and beat the Leinster finalists.

Cork really should have beaten Kerry- penalty decision was dubious but decisive.

Cork went and beat Mayo by 3 points having gone 6 points down in the second half.

Serious credit to them for their efforts so far in fairness.

    'Hon The Rebels !!!!

So Mayo drop from winning the group and getting straight to a QF to playing a preliminary round away.

    Such bollix from them.

Good win by Cork, very disappointing performance by Mayo. Referee made some very questionable decisions, penalty, some serious hits to the head for Ryan O’Donaghue and Jack Carney allowed to happen without appropriate punishment.

Feeley should have been Motm. Savage stuff at the end to win it. Nothing game in the end in that both teams were through anyway.

Well done Cork, awful performance from a Mayo point of view though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,890 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

Really disappointing result for Roscommon, looked slightly flat but still showed enough to win this game. Lots of scorable chances missed cost though, and the leggy nature of the performance is slightly worrying with another (now away) game next week. Enda was excellent, but other scoring forwards Donie and the Murtagh lads missed too many relatively easy chances and we got punished.

    AllIreland champions Mayo beaten.
