Good riddance. He should have retired a decade ago. He genuinely came across as listless and bored for far too many matches.

Hopefully they give him a good send off and let him do the first Liverpool game of the season, but it was definitely time for him to finish up. I wouldn’t be expecting the standard of commentary to improve immensely on Sky anyway, as they continue to implement the pantomime coverage.

Presumably there will be a parade on Merseyside?

He's awful, you couldn't tell if someone passed a ball or scored a goal such was his monotone.

Tyler out Drury in great stuff for the new season ahead.

    Very bland, won't miss him.

I do recall him making some comment during a game condemning McLean's Poppy stance, and backing the boo boys, which I thought was a bit ignorant and unprofessional for a commentator

It was a big part of him over the last 10 years - making subtle or sly digs at people for no reason. Once you see them, you can't unsee.

    Very glad he's gone.

He was a great commentator but his departure was long overdue.

Him and Andy Grey were the voice of Sky for so much of my youth.

But yeah he's definitely getting on and you can tell. Was time alright.
