Go out and look at some Irish roundabouts and how many (most?) Irish drivers deal with them, then come back and let us know when you think FSD will be available here.

Thanks for all the responses re the Model Y LR, towbar, grant & discount. A total pisstake.

This will be my third Tesla purchase. Typical Tesla BS.

Problem for me now is I have no car and need this sorted yesterday. First world problems.

Would strongly encourage people to report them the CCPC.

They are aware and investigating Tesla doing this back in March. Maybe Tesla could chalk this up as a once off mistake.

But how many times and over how long a period can you ‘sell’ the same falsely advertised car and demand full payment before cancelling before it becomes borderline fraud.

No exaggeration to say they have likely taken in a few hundred thousand euro on that same black LR with tow hitch with no prospect of ever selling it. If a small business owner held hundreds of thousands of multiple client funds for a couple of months on false pretences you could genuinely (and rightly) be looking at jail time.

True, I’ll be tweeting Elon, Tesla Ireland and CCPC in the meantime.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21 jcount

Can they not just remove the tow hitch. It looks easy to do that on youtube. I just want the discount and grant.

In my case I’ve a 2K discount from a non delivered S RHD on top of the discount and grant. Anyway I’ve banged off a tweet and contacted CCPC. Suggest others in this predicament do the same.

I’m expecting nothing to come of it.

From talking to someone else in this situation, if there is an inventory car you would want instead they might be able to swap the VIN on your current order to one of the cars in inventory, which changes the price of the car as well. That way you don't have to wait for the refund. Worth a try

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 280 ✭✭ModelWhy

Yeah I might try that. I have 2 orders open though so starting a 3rd might get messy. I'll talk to Tesla tomorrow and see what my options are. Very stressful this whole thing

Hi all, new to this forum and it's very informative so thanks to everyone. I ordered my Model 3 LR 2 weeks ago, paying with cash and estimated delivery date is May/June in the app. Is that in any way realistic would you think? From reading back a bit, it's very wishful thinking!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 503 ✭✭✭jayjay2010

Guys I received the payment details through my Tesla account to start paying off the balance. Is it ok for me to transfer this in chunks and from different bank accounts or should I amalgamate all my money into one account and do one transfer in full?

VIN back in app but not on the website. EDD still 20th June - 30th June (had been May 19th-June3rd). Chat support told me a couple of weeks back that my disappeared VIN would reappear "21 days before delivery". Still no idea when I'll actually get a car.

Sometimes I think it'd be better to have no information at all -

Yeah, back in the app for me as well on the same delivery timelines. Now you can add the drama of whether it ships with HW3 or HW4 to the mix too 😅

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,733 ✭✭✭pete

I’d like to think that was the reason for the delay but somehow I doubt it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 133 ✭✭Charlie 22

I'm in the same situation, I actually ordered later. Some people are getting delivery dates for the end of june now so we may be out of luck. Having said that I have ordered a SR in white with nothing else added, it might have a higher chance of being filled.

I noticed this article on the Model 3 slowing production in Giga Shanghai, no idea if it is accurate or not!

Was actually just reading that article. Apparently they have stopped making the 'old' one.

I had seen the new facelift model, it's nice looking in fairness, however I like the original one too tbh. I would love to have the patience to wait for the facelift model but then it could be delayed, reduced grant etc. Maybe they are shipping the rest of the old RHD models and that's the end of the line and we might get one of those...

The rollout of HW4 on MY is only starting in Fremont factory, not in other locations yet. The chance of getting HW4 on cars manufactured in April in Shanghai would be extremely slim - I would say none.

I was told by Tesla CS that the reason for the delay of EDD was due to large amount of cars couldn't be delivered to Irish customers due to VRT issues with Revenue. Therefore they had to postpone shipments from China so that they won't run into trouble with storing the excessive amount of cars in Zeebrugge or Dublin. But not sure how reliable the info is considering it's from Tesla CS.

you can do either. if you intend to use online banking there are usually daily max limits of 10k, so bear this in mind

Makes no difference once you out the RN number as the reference you’re all ok.

My tow hitch order is invalid. Getting €250 refund. Thankfully I did not pay in full or cancel my original order.

You should be fine doing it in chunks from different account (i'm doing in chunks from one account) but I would do a small test amount like 2.34 (that's easy too recognise) from each account first to make sure you have everything right first

I just cancelled a M3LR in red now. It should pop up as available for immediate delivery soon if anyone is after one.

If anyone does pick it up as a result of this post maybe consider using my referral please...

How far do you have to get to before 1st of July to take advantage of the full SEAI €5,000 grant?

    My delivery is June 26-30th.

Do you have to actually take delivery of the car?

I mean if Tesla are late with deliveries, say by a few days/weeks. Does that mean the full grant is gone?

I also presume you have grounds to cancel the order in this case and get a refund.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 280 ✭✭ModelWhy

You can cancel on the day of delivery if you want, no issue there.

For the grant, it has to be applied for before 1st July technically. Tesla want everyone to pick up their cars last week of 231 cycle for their quarter deliveries, nothing more.

You'd think they'd apply for the grant before 1st July and delivery after for 232 cycle but no they won't do that.

What’s the chances of a 26-30th June delivery date being accurate?

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 42,615 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

Strong chance once Revenue cop on. Seemly loads of orders pauses until revenue sort out the stat code for vrt etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 280 ✭✭ModelWhy

In a way though, many of us got our seai grant form signed, so if they do get delayed into July, I wonder if we will get the full grant AND a 232 reg?

My VIN which was previously visible in the app and then disappeared, is now visible again this morning 🤷‍♂️

I’m clinging to any sign of progress!

Unlikely it would take that long to sort but it would be a great result
