OK desperate.Is there anyone out there who has imported a car and had to manualy fill in a CoC cert?

It needs to be filled in on the revenue site. I have tried and failed four times. I might as well be looking at Japanese as I have no idea what I am doing on it or what an IVI is or what I should be filling in and which sections to fill in. I am willing to pay whoever can do this for me.

@AMKC A customs clearance agent does all the paperwork for you. We used a firm called Easy Customs from Letterkenny when we were moving our stuff over here and they were great to deal with and they didn't charge much either.

Why would that make a difference? You still need a customs agent for the paper work, the penalty for late registration is part of the paper work.

Customs clearance agent should have nothing to do with the CoC - CoC is generally only needed for determining the NoX value. I manually did the details myself recently - but it was at the VRT stage.

That is what I am trying to do. I have had it over at an NCT centre and was told thay would do that but they just had a quick visual look at the vehicle and that was it. Told me I had to do that myself.

How many parts of the CoC online form did you fill out?

Did you find it hard? I was always get the dreaded red page if I tried to save what I had done or even thought I had it finished and pressed finish.

I found it very straightforward to be honest - I just downloaded the excel sheet with all the NoX figures from their site, then added a line with the figures for my car and printed it off the figures for my newly entered car.

I actually did this based off the figures from emissionsfinder.com or something and they accepted it. I'd requested the actual CoC from VW a few weeks earlier and it was taking ages - but had no problems eitherway. The figures from VW matched off against the emissions finder website in the end.

So this below is what I get every time I try to fill it out. I think I have gone above and beyond filling it out doing more than is needed and this **** happens 😞 . I spent a good 30 minutes doing it today. Still no luck 😞 ,

You still haven’t said what car it is. No one uses CoC’s. Everybody uses emmisions data from MLIT Japan. Trying to help but you ignored the question previously

Its not a car and its not from Japan. I bought it last year. Its an electric Trike. I bought it from China.

Have you looked into insurance? Trikes and quads are in a gray area with licences and insurance in Ireland, you need a bike licence but car insurance and insurance is hard to get even for officially imported quads. A self-imported trike from China is going to be a nightmare to get insured!

You have the make and model, get onto them to get you a quote from that. If they deal with these things it should be easy to get you a quote, it's just a matter of getting the make and model into the system. Better to find out if you can use it before you get it registered.

Yes finally getting somewhere. Got the CoC done and uploaded at last. A clear head and patience helped. Hopefully it's all good.

How long does it take Revenue to get back to you and what's the next stage? Will they send me out my reg or do I need to go back to the NCT Centre. I am hoping I do not have too.

Revenue will text you to say your VRT quote is ready, you phone them to find out what the amount is, and then pop back to the NCT centre to pay it and get your reg number. (or you can skip the phone call bit and arrive without knowing what it will cost you if you like surprises!)

Not sure on that to be honest - should be no reason why you can't present it at any VRT desk, but you never know. Whoever you speak to when you phone for the quote will know for definite.
