Gamestop Closing - Selling stock off.

Sad to see another tech related shop go - pretty much will be just handbags and shoe shops left when they leave the mall.

But they have 30% off used games for PS5 and XBox X currently. And the % off seems to going up often.

Got "Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart" for 30 euros - and some PS4 games for about 2 euros each.

Found receipt with exact prices - big games still pricey - but thats ps5 for you - lots of stock in shop - they said not all was out on display:

thanks for posting, they’ll have to reduce by more closer to next month. Only 10% on switch software currently which makes the games only a similar price to SMYTHS etc!

Yes - one to watch... but In store - there are signs for 30% off for some stuff (PS4) - 20% (PS5) and 10% for others. Nothing for hardware and merch yet.

in my case Ratch & Clank PS5 €39.99 - 20% off came down to almost reasonable €31.99 - which is cheaper than CEX €38

Much better off getting a PlayStation sub.

Ratchet and clank and new Horizon are on it. Worth it for those alone.

I liked the idea of it when I got it - Had a sub from launch day for just over a year - but several games I had queued up and installed to play were removed before I had finished them, so I let it expire.

Plenty for now for me to get through anyway.

Although, mathematically speaking, if you discount by minus 30%, does that not mean that you're adding 30%? (It is GameStop, after all 😁)

They had 30% off in Liffey St on Friday but in Stephen's green on Saturday the discount was only 20%. They're hardly offering a better discount in the northside store, are they? Or did someone wake up in a cold sweat on Friday night and realise that 30% off €80 was too generous?

I asked in store today and he said the sale might go to 40%. Which isn't bad for new Ps5 games.

They were also selling all the baskets and stands in store.

Fella in store said to me in Clarehall the 10th of June I believe and fully gone then with all stores and site by the end of the month. How accurate that is, I have no idea.

24th of June is meant to be the date internally. Ironically the same date as Argos are closing!

I don't suppose anyone bought their Series X pre-owned off GameStop. I was wondering what kind of condition they do be in. It seems a bit of a gamble really though, also no warranty so not sure it would be worth the saving, if it was faulty you'd be screwed with no one to go to.

Although GameStop are closing their website and store in the next month, they should have some service open for the next year or so in case any of the products they sell become faulty. Argos have something like this in place for when they close.
