Contract with auctioneer to sell a property - set time

As the title says when you sign an agreement with an auctioneer to sell a property is there a set time they have to sell the property, and if so what is the usual length. For example could the agreement be for as short as 3 months, and at the end of that the contract is expired and you can go with another auctioneer.

You can do whatever you like. There is no set time but you are free to try other auctioneer if you feel that current one is not doing his job.

It won't take 3 months to sell, probably less unless you are asking for unreasonable price.

Your written agreement will outline the agreed timeframe for the agency agreement, and the period after it ends during which you may be liable for payment if the buyer was introduced to you by the auctioneer.

You can do whatever you like, as long as what you like is in line with the contract you signed with the auctioneer.

You are free to agree any deal with an auctioneer you like. Whether an auctioneer would accept instructions to sell within such period is another matter. A lot depends on the type of property involved and its location. In some rural areas it would not be unusual for properties to be for sale for over a year. House in a modern urban housing estate should attract bidders very quickly, but even then deals can break down. Sometimes snags merged with title for planning permission after a potential buyer has appeared on the scene and made an offer and had contracts ready for signing.
