Meanwhile Diesel dropping nicely, its dropped 10c since my last fill in Enfield, now 183.9. Heating oil slow to follow, finally dropped about 4c, I'd expect a bigger drop than that.

1.78 for diesel in Ennis on Saturday (Macenernys in Cloughleigh)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 7,891 ✭✭✭deezell

1.72 in certa for Diesel, I've seen petrol for 1.59. I don't get why heating oil shot up a week ago. I got a 1000l for 1.13 with a 2c off coupon, from a price of 1.15, but it gone up 3c to 1.18 in a week that diesel fell 6c. Supply and demand I suppose.

It was 174.8 there on Sunday, 172.9 in Certa. Thats a 5c drop, yet heating oil has gone up another 3c, now 121 a litre and Certa online site only offering 500l fills. The stuff must be scarce.

If you strip the 23% vat, then the 42.545 cent excise, or Mineral Oil Tax from diesel, and do similar for Kero, 13.5% vat, then 10.383 MOT, Kerosene is now 96.2c/litre before tax, Diesel is 95.5c.

€1.41 for diesel in Cathal Duffy's Castlebar today.

It's presumably €1.45 in the Cartel garages in town, and €1.39 everywhere else. Go go! ⛽

I’ve just launched a new fuel price website

    Fuelify.ie

Very clean interface and simple to use, wont have many prices now obviously as only just launched

Best of luck with it. Worth trying to get some publicity on a radio show or something to help it gain traction etc.

All the main opposition are fatally flawed. Pumps, Pumphunt (careful how you say it) and Waze. It's impossible to simply check the prices by entering/navigating to a location. Get that right and the rest will follow.

Do you mean like a simple search box to search for a particular location?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,308 ✭✭✭✭wotzgoingon

I don't understand what you mean either but what I will say is that new site is very easy to browse any where in the country. Pumphunt only showed you locations nearby while this site I can check every where in the country and quickly. They are all nearly 0 as not much userbase but anyhow. Well with pumphunt you could browse but it lagged like hell and as I said it didn't show the prices if you browsed too far from your location.

Yes, just tried it there. Exactly what's needed. I just updated Applegreen Enfield for Diesel, went by earlier, can't remember petrol. Emo Enfield is a cent less, on the main st. Next to Supervalu but not on your map. Will you have a way to submit stations?

    Just curious, why?

As there are many existing sites. Pumps.ie, PumpHunt.com, Waze, and others, even Google Maps. And also there's no money in it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34 PumpHunt

I'll look into adding a Set Location box. It's simple to do, no requests for this previously. All you need to do is ask.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34 PumpHunt

There are about 8000 fuel stations in Ireland. If you scroll around the map, it will eventually download them all. Which can make the app/site laggy, I'll look into improving this.

This guys' new site will be fast because he has almost no stations on it, and no prices.

I am happy to fix or change things around, all you need to do is ask me for it. If something is broken, tell me.

    Have you even used Waze?

Press the pump icon and the list of nearby stations and your preferred fuel price is displayed.

Its limited to about 10km from your current location. If you want to pinpoint the stations' prices on a modest journey of 60 km, it won't show them. If I'm heading say to Portlaoise, it would be nice to know in advance where the best price is for a fill on my route. This is what you get. There is nothing you can do to move the loci of a search.

    *NEW FEATURE ADDED TO PUMPHUNT*

I've added a new button under the Search menu. It's called 'Set Position', and it allows you to center the map to any location entered by you in the search text box.

I know a few people has requested this feature before. It will also help if people have disabled/blocked GPS within the app/website.

Sweet. Works well. Ushers Quay 1.39 for diesel, about 7c/km on a long run.

Don't forget the duty rises start on Thursday. Petrol going up by €0.21 and diesel by €0.16 spread out over 3 hikes.

The below is a general 'signature' and not part of any post:

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Public transport user? If you're sick of phantom ghost services on the 'official' RTI sources, check bustimes.org for actual 'real' RTI, if it's on their map it actually exists.

It took some garages weeks to pass on the decrease, so i'd expect the same with the price rise 😜 😎

Where are people getting their prices now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54 ✭✭GreenPanda99

I used to use waze, but i gave up because you cant even update the prices as a passenger when driving past a garage. And by the time you get into your car after filling up sure you cant be bothered updating the prices on waze.

There was an irish guy working on a replacement for pumps.ie last year. He was on Newstalk. Dont know what happened with that.
