Smoke/CO/Heat alarms with pv panels

    Was flicking through the manual for an aico/ei co alarm and noticed this that the THD must be less than 5% when using pv, can someone provide more info on this

    5% THD is quite alot. I think most solar inverters on the market all quote less than 3% THD on output.

    Inverter based generators are the best quality sources for low-harmonic noise % while a basic brushed generator (such as a low-cost off the shelf type) would have significant harmonics. So like Lenar said, a good quality high-frequency solar inverter should be less than 5% THD (but check the specs).
