Its the usual question but, with a small twist, I have been unable to find the answer on Boards or in searches on Revenue.ie (which seems to encourage a query via myrevenue) or citizens information - at this point I may need to call or visit tax office for guidance.

The situation is that an elderly relative who is with a religious order in UK has moved to Ireland, they have brought the car they used in UK with them and want to reregister it here - the process to do that as a private individual is reasonably clear.

How is it done when the party on the registration papers is a religious order with their UK address and will be registered to the same order but, at their address in ireland. They have a registered charity number here in Ireland, not a tax reference and do not have an accountant/advisor who they can go to.

There seems to be nothing obvious I can use to start the process of importing the vehicle without the need to pay VRT - is it possible when the owner is not a private person and if so, any advice or directions to relevant pages or forms on Revenue would be much appreciated

    Thanks in advance.
