From Thursday ALDI will have their Lebanese Red wine (Bekaa Valley) reduced to €8 from €11.

Some good reviews here - might need time to breathe but when it opens up it is lovely.

Also an Albarino white wine down to €7.50

That Lebanese Red is decent, tried a few bottles at Christmas time, and does sell at €11 normally, as opposed to many wines offered for sale reduced from prices they were never worth. Bit of a steal at €8 if can be got at that price.

Still haven't manged to get any of reduced St Emilion in Lidl, called again today, none in stock. However did come across a Chateauneuf Du Pape there, reduced from €19.99 to €10.89 (I think). The quality of many Chateauneufs today is not what it was, and the wine does to my mind suffer from what I regard as over-exposure as a name (regarded as great by many based on name alone, rather than quality) but nonetheless a good price at just over a tenner, presume it's part of a general reduction, rather than store specific.

Any good bargains over the border at the mo? Heading up to Belfast on the train for Easter so will be looking to bring a few bottles of something back - wine or whiskey. Pity you can't get duty free at the train station!

Go to Asda.com and you can check out the prices. 25% off 6 or more wine at the moment.

That's strange I would have thought so close to Newry they would keep down to MUP prices.

My local Aldi has Gordon's Gin 70cl was 11.99, now 9.99, it has a best before date of May

Edit: was the 0.0% alcohol version, not immediately obvious, as they were horizontal scattered in a wire bin

Something seems off there - a bottle of Gin with a best before date?

Plus even at 11.99 it is way below MUP for a bottle of Gin ABV.

Is it some sort of liqueur?

25% off 6+ bottles of wine running across all UK supermarkets for the next week or so. As it happens it looks like I'll be heading North for a family occasion so happy days!

Was caught out in Sainsbury's as deal had ended but thankfully got most of my booze in Tesco.

20 bottles of Coors light and 16 bottles of wine for £90, not a bad haul.

Where's the best place in the north to buy 24 x 500ml slabs??

Just a heads up, I’ve been told these have been delisted by Aldi until august (well the citra one at least), seems like bad business to me as I thought these were good sellers, and are good beers for summer 🤷🏼‍♂️

They'll have no craft left soon. None of the O'Shea's stuff in mine for the last six weeks either but the SEL's are still there so I've my 🤞🤞

They got rid of the green East coast one before, but have since added a new line with a darker green label that is very nice. So maybe they roate them a little.

I think the orange one is the Citra and the nicest so I'll pop to Aldi and stock up on what's left.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,737 ✭✭✭geographica

The orange is the citra in the paddle, and it’s gone until august

Sainsbury's 25% off when you buy 6 or more bottle of wines is coming back...running from the 24th to the 28th of May inclusive. I've booked a slot for the 24th by the funny thing is I keep getting a 'missed offer' message and the 25% isn't applied. Has anybody had this issue with Sainsbury's website before?

Not sure tbh. Was trying to get a "Nectar" card but finding it difficult.

It finished early on the last bank holiday up there so I'm done with Sainsbury's (that and food that turned mouldy days before its use by date). Better deals in Tesco with a UK clubcard
