I think that my yorkie suffers static shock

In short I have a rescue dog and sometimes when I put on his walking harness he jumps away from me and it looks like it may be Static Shock. Has anybody come across this in their own pets, and I have no carpets in the house except 2 very small rubber backed mats and wooden floors. Is there a way i can check this harness…

I feel static between me and my dogs when I'm wearing Crocs. Could your footwear possibly be causing an issue?🤔
With the static, I mean... not as a fashion statement 😁

Hi I changed my footwear recently and the situation is still the same. Unfortunately Static cannot be measured with a multi meter
