    Hi,

I'm looking at importing a mainland UK private passenger vehicle to Ireland. Is it possible to have it converted to a commercial vehicle and then imported to Ireland as a commercial vehicle qualifying for the lower commercial VRT rate? How long does it have to stay as a commercial vehicle in Ireland before being converted back to a passenger vehicle?

If this is possible as a further question can I drive it over as a passenger car on UK plates and have the conversion work done here and then paper imported or must it be physically converted in the UK? Does anyone know the steps that would be involved in such a process?

Vehicle type will probably be a Jaguar F-Pace hence I believe to be a commercial it has to have the rear seats removed, is this correct?
