Joining 22 mm to Irish 1/2 pipes

    Hi all,


    I have read that is it fine to use 15mm fittings on Irish 1/2" pipe. Does this apply even to internal couplers? I am installing a 22mm automatic bypass to my 1/2" bypass pipe and its proving a real head ache so I am trying to use 22 mm to 15 mm couplers.

    In practise, most contractors use the metric fitting (be it 15 or 22mm) and simply exchange the olive for an Irish one (1/2” or 3/4”) where the Irish size pipe is to be connected.

    It may not be textbook, but it works quite well.
