I don't know where we're going, but we know where we are? (Part whatever)

My mum isn't elderly per se, but she has restricted mobility so everything is at a slower pace.

I dread her checking out at the German stores tbh because you just know the customers behind expect a swift checkout. She couldn't give a fig but I always dread someone remarking.

Back to rain here again after a lovely sunny day. 🙄

Did @Princess Calla survive the visit from her mother?

I looked at it once before. I'm not on it. What kind of lies? About their job? How do they get away with it?

Ah, it's just people pretending they care about everything or are experts in something when really they are just selling themselves or a product.

Haha yeah, she was only offered one cup of coffee though 🤣🤣🤣

A very uneventful visit. It's usually when someone else is annoying her she'll take it out on me. I'm getting better at not rising to the bait.

I'm happy to scan my own items, I don't feel the need to have an 'empty' conversation with a complete stranger.... but!

If supermarkets want to go down this road they need to come up with a practical way of scanning a whole shopping trolley load (scanning items as you put them into the trolley seems to be the currently favoured method), they need to have a good sized 'packing area' so you can transfer your purchases to your shopping bags easily (and without feeling hurried about it), and most importantly they need plenty of staff available to deal with the inevitable technical issues ("This doesn't scan properly / at all", "I accidently scanned this twice", "this item is supposed to on offer, but computer says no" etc etc etc)

No supermarket that has self-scanning tills that I've been in does all of this.

Edit to add: I have a thing about packing my own shopping my way, and I also get annoyed at till staff who treat my shopping roughly, which is my completely selfish reason for preferring self-checkout. I understand that other people may enjoy the personal interaction, or feel anxious or even angry about it. So there should definitely be the choice!

Watching tv news item about a young woman with a condition where she can faint at anytime, and she has a trained dog to warn her if she’s going to faint so she can sit down. Dogs are awesome 😎

I loved they way he'd always fall in love with some poor cat that accidentally got a line drawn their back. The cat would be running away terrified and he'd be bouncing along after for LOVE.

Ah, must get them on DVD while they are still available. 😁

You must be in the sunny south east because it's fairly grey over west, beautiful photo.

If I had panned the camera a little more to the right you’d have seen Roches Point 😊

Also grey in the east. And cold.

I was just going to say that looks like one of the harbour forts here in Cork.

Deskside, burning down the clock in the office. Can't wait to get home!

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!
