Is it outside the limitations? Given that the custom is that no POTUS can be indicted, surely that puts a hold on any time limits to the statute of limitations?

He really is only trying to appeal to the lowest of intelligences these days. "Soros backed animal", "China and Russia".

    Buzz words for thickos.

    Fkn 'ell 🙄

I think we can safely assume that the various experienced Legal minds in the NY DA's office have checked that are aren't going to walk into court to be told that they have missed the deadline for the Statute of limitations before the case even starts.

I've said it many times on this thread before. For trump cultists, "getting away with it" is even BETTER than being innocent 'cos "getting away with it" is owning the libs.

I feel it's safe to assume that Trump's legal woes will have no negative baring on the opinion of the MAGA faithful (present MAGA-Boardsie company clearly included).

    • He can be investigated ("It's a witch-hunt!!")
    • He can be fined ("The Saros Illuminati will use my cash to build space lazers, designed to make your kids Jewish....and gay)
    • And can even be convicted ("This is the Gestpo! It's China! It's North Korea & Russia! Yes Russia...who we....hate?")

Point is, it won't matter to them, because nothing does.

But elections in the States are utimatly deciced by those in the middle, and they might not be too gone on this version of Trump. Before 2016, he was the "Billionare" head of a reality TV show. He projected the fiction of success. He was an abrasvie boob, but for many he was worth a shot. Many of them now know better and he only got one term because of it. If he stays in the news due to trials related to him being a corrupt dim-wit, then the moderate voters are going to get regular reminders why they shouldn't vote for this NFT-flogging TV-clown.

I think these trials will only help with holding onto the MAGA base, and will not do much in adding moderate voters. But it's still up to the Dem voters to get out next year and out-vote the MAGA nuts.

It isn't just that he can't get moderates to vote for him. he get moderates out to vote for the other guy. There was no way Biden was getting 81M votes if he wasn't running against trump.

Agree completely - It helps him in the GOP Primary in that it hardens the MAGA vote and probably ensures that they all come out to vote , but like you say Nothing that Trump has done he got beaten in the last Election will convince anyone that didn't vote for him then, to vote for him in 2024.

If anything it probably loses him a few more moderate GOP and Independent voters.

The problem is that he doesn't need to win the most popular votes. He just needs to win enough Electoral College votes. And Republicans have been spending their time in states that they control the local government to make it harder for a non-Republican to win the EC votes from their state. By a combination of making it harder for people who are less likely to vote for them to vote, as well as putting rules in place to allow them to override the popular vote if they want to. Of course, always couched in the language of "election security".

    "Entertainment" channels probably weren't considered.

Breaking News: A suspicious white powder was just discovered inside an envelope at the Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s office, just hours after Donald Trump threatened “death and destruction” if he is indicted.

    Maga again?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,251 ✭✭✭PropJoe10

It was allegedly sent from Orlando, Florida. Tenner says that Donald posted it himself.

He is alluding to death and destruction now, which itself is the byproduct of fight like hell. He is gagging to get another riot going.

Otherwise he also wants to be shot

But Trump has rejected that approach and told various allies over the weekend that he didn’t care if someone shot him – he would become “a martyr”. He later added that if he got shot, he would probably win the presidency in 2024, the sources said.

You know what to do MAGA brains

Death threat emails sent to Bragg (because MAGA) originated from....Russia.

Sounds like the plot of 'Machete'. Hire a Mexican to "assassinate" a far right candidate only for it to be a double cross aimed to garner sympathy for the candidate and vilify Hispanics.

Somehow Fox News gave time to Rob Blagojevich - a former politician who was convicted in 2011 of 18 counts of corruption including trying to sell a Senate seat vacancy for $1.5M.

why was he on fox you ask? To impugn Michael Cohen for cooperating with investigators - sorry - for being a “snitch” and getting a lighter sentence.

Blaggys own sentence was commuted by Trump in 2020.

Incredibly desperate of them to try and campaign against prosecution of Individual One, the Unindicted Coconspirator. This guy stole money from a children’s hospital and he’s trying to go on TV and shame Michael Cohen for lying 🤣

Trump rally in Waco was yet another horrible dog-whistle to the very furthest reaches of the ring-wing in the US.

Choosing to hold a rally in Waco on the 30th Anniversary of the Branch Davidian siege is a clear clarion call to the likes of the Proud Boys and the 3 percenters and all the other

His rhetoric about having to "destroy the deep state before they destroy us" clearly calls to them.

He will happily burn the entire country to the ground to protect himself.

As long as it's owning the libs who cares?

50 years from now they are going to look back at this time and think what? They lost their way or they found it? A principal in Florida (Where else) had to quit 'cos an art class was shown a picture of David.

The Simpsons made a joke about this years ago.

What a shame. The US has lost its soul, it's empathy, its education, its freedom. All to fear and hate and it's all internal. I CANNOT equate this to the US I spent so much time in in the early 2000s Teaching creation theory in science class. Burning books. Banning mention of homosexuality, Banning teaching of black history. Cheering on a white-supremacist-supporting, election-tampering sexual predator.

    For shame.

Sadly none of that surprises me in the least. But then I grew up in the US. The religious fanatics have been pushing to have "creation science" taught in schools since they made the term up in the 1960s. I spent way too much time on Usenet arguing with those loonies on talk.origins back in the day. They desperately long for the time when finding out someone was homosexual was considered justification for kicking the sh!t out of them. And when POC "knew their place". Large swaths of the US lost their fcking minds when Obama was elected. The idea that a black man could be President pretty much shattered their world view. Then along comes a man that tells them that it is okay to hate the people that they hate. That's where the bullsh!t "Make America Great Again" comes from. What they mean by that is "Make America White Again". And "Make America Straight Again". And "Make America CIS Again". And of course "Make America Religious Again".

IUt incredible to watch it happen. That a man can stand up and play an 'alternative' anthem and have people stand and cover their hearts - ie pledge allegiance - is incredible. This from the same people that lost it when others knelled to the actual anthem.

Imagine if AOC, or Omar or anyone else did this. The right would be in uproar. But almost nothing is said about it.
