    Red card

That's an elbow to the head.

It should be a red card, but I don't trust Peyper.

Tried to make it look benign, but I think he knew what he was doing

Good man Jaco. Steward had ample opportunity to avoid that or wrap him.

Jump turn, lead with the elbow, kinda had to be

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 9,054 ✭✭✭fitz

    He absolutely did.

The talk of not having time to react was nonsense.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59,443 ✭✭✭✭walshb

On, so that is 15-14 for rest game, yes?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 12,058 ✭✭✭✭fullstop

That looked a bit harsh. At full speed never looked a red, but looked much worse slowed down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,595 ✭✭✭✭CIARAN_BOYLE

i certainly agree. It was red.

I would give some mitigation for the late decisionmaking but thats mitigation in terms of reducing the ban rather than mitigation to yellow.

Stewart: "It was milliseconds, what could I do?"

Ref: "You had enough time to turn sideways"

Another joke of a decision. Game is gone.

Running everything in slow motion is a **** joke!!!

I hope they sort out this situation before the world cup. It woukd be awful to see a big world cup game ruined on the back on a decision like that.

Don't let him fool you, they tried similar with Sexton earlier. He knew what he was doing. Right decision.

What a farce, how is that a red. Won't be long before they're playing tag rugby instead so nobody gets hurt.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,066 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Really should have scored points there before England had a chance to reorganise their side at half time.

That's extremely harsh, and another example where a red card ruins a contest.

The ball was knocked on, and Keenan wasn't even a ball carrier until a split second before the contact. It's not like he could have lined him up for a tackle from a long way out.

Rugby needs to sort this stuff out.

agreed. players will soon be afraid to make contact. watched at full speed nothing in it slow mo replays ruing the game

Let them off the hook there poor outcome to come away with nothing from all that pressure

    No.

    All the factors were there.

England players leaving shoulders, elbows and hips in all day. Its a risky game and it went badly for him there. But the sanction was correct.
