I wonder if they will reduce the cost of cars already ordered from inventory but not yet collected? Has anybody spoken with them about this.

Have I misunderstood some previous poster who was saying that Tesla can't/won't change the price of individual cars to shift them from inventory because the VIN has already been associated with a particular spec? Something, something, something. Sorry sir, I wasn't paying attention...

For those getting deliveries soon, it would be handy to know how is new suspension compared to test drive cars.

No because this is not a price cut.

It was an inventory reduction of what they class as stock cars.

You can check it out yourself in sandyford. The LR is the older suspension and the RWD is the newer set up.

The discount including the grant is €8.5k off the MY LR.

i was willing to pay €60k yesterday for the MY MSM, but someone got there before me.

see they have MYP now discounted . Could be bargain city in a few days.

Id say there are a large number of cancellations already with more to come next week as people don’t stump up the cash .

Pushing delivery dates out to September is a right kick in the nuts.

i have a MY LR white , still at feb-mar delivery ordered

i have a MY RWD MSM , collection date of 27th Mar.

    hope everyone gets sorted

You essentially got the induction wheels for free!

Its €53,940 for a white LR on 19” Geminis.

Just switch your order to one of the discounted ones - pay the €250 deposit, ring Tesla tomorrow and they will refund your original deposit

FWIW i was talking to Tesla sales earlier today and ingrid told me that if i have paid everything on the MY RWD and a LR becomes available upto the day before collection they will transfer the money paid to the new order, and put the other order back into inventory.

i was still holding out hope that a LR would become available before my RWD 27th march pickup date.

    Order the discounted one.

Then send an email to cancel the original order. You’ll get the deposit back.

Is there a way to talk to Irish sales agents .. when I call I ALWAYS get UK people who start off like there's loads of cars and then eventually figure out OH theres nothing in Dublin .. why do you want one under 60K? .. yada yada

The only way is to go to sandyford. But honestly the sales guys have very little insight into what's going on. We're an odd little off shoot of a bigger market that is now it's own odd little off shoot of a bigger market!

Call on a weekday from around 1pm onwards and you should get through to David from the Ireland sales team who is very helpful!

Its good someone who was waiting months for an LR got it .. its an annoying system that Joe bloggs who stumbled over the tesla website can wander into the inventory and by blind luck see a car that is roughly similar to what 40 people have ordered and are waiting months for and buy it.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 42,627 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

    Kia, VW all the same.

One guy waiting on his ID4 drove by the garage and noticed one in the place. Went in and asked why he couldn’t have it and got it.

Dont think it would be the norm.

Hey Joe "any sign of that model I've been waiting months for"

Answer "yes it came in with better alloys so it didnt exactly match your spec, didnt bother calling you, but guess what I did.."

    What ?

"Discounted it down to what you were willing to pay, decided not to call you and sold it to the first person who walked in the door"

    thanks Joe.

Can understand frustrations but thats the "Tesla way".. With booking deposit so low cars get allocated to those who have ordered who at last minute fail to deliver the cash.. You can see from this forum that some have ordered up to 3 cars hedging their bets..in terms of which arrives first etc.. I suspect there will be a lot of churn as we get closer to the quarter end 31st, so for those interested keep diligently refreshing inventory page as when they appear they can move fast. The difference this time is that some of the new cars (higher spec) are being discounted, usually that has been confined to demo cars.

I agree with the frustration. We booked a LR with induction in Feb from inventory at 61k to collect end month. Now feeling quite the muppet. The Tesla way doesn't leave you feeling the experience was the best ever. The 'normal" dealer model may make a come back as The Tesla way is not a perfect replacement

Although the alloys are more expensive and look nicer, isn't there a small hit on range and the ride is slightly harsher? So might not be to everyone's liking?

The way that Tesla allocates cars with randomness isn’t ideal - to next order or to inventory, etc. They have been uncertain and vague on when the reservation could be fulfilled, and kept saying it depends a lot on the cancellations of other orders.

And the fact that some people reserved multiple cars and are awaiting the last minute to make their decision certainly is not helping either.

Agreed, I'm never bothered by how the wheels look, might end up swapping them for Gemini set. Any thoughts ?

MY LR ordered 14th Jan. Delivery date just updated from Feb-March to 15 June - 29 August.

Same here, the MY LR that i ordered in jan (not taking now anyway)changed from feb-mar to 24 Apr - 10 may .

That would tally with ship arriving in zebrugge on mid april , leaving shanghai mid march.

Maybe some VIN’s might start appearing next week.

however more than likely they pluck these dates out of their arse.
