    Eh?

    Working miracles?

Go through the utd players today.

De Gea, wc winner, ec winner

    Martinez, wc winner

Varane, wc winner, multiple cl winner

    Shaw, England International,

    Casemiro, multiple cl winner

    Antony, bought for £90m

Bruno, highly rated (I hate him)

Rashford, has been raved about for months.

It's hardly a side that should capitulate so easily.

Agreed, I don't get this working miracles idea. In fairness, it's a narrative the media have pushed heavily, but it doesn't hold up to scrutiny. Look at the teams United are ahead of in the league: Spurs, Liverpool, Newcastle, Fulham, Brighton, Brentford, Chelsea. Only team that might be considered a surprise, certainly based on today, is Liverpool. Ten Hag won a cup beating Charlton, Forest and Newcastle on the way. Hardly a miracle. Closest thing to a miracle result was knocking out Barca but they were without Pedri and Gavi who were huge losses for them and it was a close tie. He's been a big improvement on Solskjaer and Ragnick but you'd expect that from a competent coach that has been successful elsewhere. The Solskjaer era has left most United fans gagging for success to the point where even the standards from the LVG and Mourinho eras seem a distant memory.

Souness has had this in the back pocket for a while. And he's right.

Christ Souness is miserable. Just wants to stick the boot in instead of enjoying the win.

Souness making a joke of Neville there was fuckin hilarious 😂

He is enjoying the win though.

He is pulling Neville up, quite correctly. Gary saying Liverpool didn't play that well etc - it's embarrassing listening to him. Keane is clearly taking a back seat as he knows Souness is correct.

The clip prematch of Souness saying he thinks Liverpool will win by 2 or 3 and the camera widens to show Keane and Neville laughing, will be shown for years.

I thought Ten-Hag spoke very well - he normally does - calling it unprofessional.

I can’t stand Neville and seeing him squirm is sweet but I still think Souness comes across as angry and bitter. He could have done it more lightheartedly imo.

I don't think we're beating Madrid, but if Madrid's mentality was "grab one in the first half and switch to autopilot" they're definitely rethinking it.

I didn't get why he kept wanting to stick the boot in and say how bad United were and implying this is that start of a massive downturn in form than just celebrate the win. I'm bias as a United fan but agreed with Neville, not overly concerned about today long term. It's hugely embarrassing (i've had to turn my phone off) but a bit of perspective. Playing every 3/4 days with a very good 11 but a poor B team will take its toll.

United lose their next 2 games and I'll be concerned. It's been a quality 3 months but today proves the squad is still massively fragile and there is a long way to go to become actual title challengers.

Credit to Liverpool, they pounced on their opportunity and could/should use this as a catalyst to start their season and guarantee top 4.

They shouldn't capitulate but it's happened, it's happened before.

Liverpool lost 7-2 to Aston Villa a couple of years ago, that shouldn't have happened either but it did and they moved on.

Liverpool hammering Man United - they've become pretty common in the last few years.

Thought the ref was pretty poor today. A few fouls on Salah that he let go, but every ref does that. McTominay was nasty, but it was allowed in the game and Liverpool are lucky to come out of the game with no injuries.

Bruno shouldn't have stayed on the pitch. The referee should just have sent him off to put him out of his own misery. The manager wouldn't take him off. Imagine your captain asking to be taken off. Diving full time. Complaining ya everything. He's a disgrace.

Except he is not and was never lighthearted. Always comes across as being a bit angry I think.

Best and worst? Mancs in the best form for years and pool in the worst??? You logic is not logical

Competitive and a dislike for Manc Utd is probably a better description

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,141 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

That was a freak result as Neville kept going on about, I think 3 of Villa's goals were from deflections and flat footed Liverpools 2nd choice keeper at the time Adrian who also gifted Villa their opening goal.

I met Souness once and he came across as an angry man. It made him great player but today is a stopped clock moment for him, he's usually saying things as a pundit that make little to no sense at all whether it's about United or not he has some odd opinions in general.

The whole idea of having ex players from opposite clubs (long past relevance to the club) is specifically to draw the outrage and subsequent clickbait that you are falling for and feeding.

Real journalism would make a point of banning non neutrals.

I'll only make one comment after that rout this evening:

How, after spending hundreds of millions on players, are United stuck with DeGea as #1 goalie? He's pants....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,074 ✭✭✭Robson99

As was Robertson going down holding his face when he got it in the stomach.

If that’s all you can take from today, I feel sorry for you., really I do!!!!

On todays performance, United have bigger problems than their keeper in fairness.

I know the Indo wouldn't agree with you. They just love having an article giving Roy Keanes opinions when he is doing 'analysis' on British TV.

I have no doubt one will appear this evening about todays game.

    As said, clickbait.

The myth that Utd are potential challengers is busted.

That myth was busted when we lost to Arsenal a few weeks back.

Perhaps. Blown apart today. I was fearful of Utd being a force under the new manager. Not so sure now. Wilted today in a big game.

I've watched all of our games recently and fatigue has been a major issue. The schedule has been grueling since Christmas and injuries haven't helped.

If we fall apart from here Ten Hag has questions to answer but so far he's been doing well and didn't take the easy option when asked about fatigue after the game today.

The fact that ABU's are afraid of what he's done so far is a good sign.

We've had to watch Liverpool win for the last few years, it's part and parcel of football.

How was Bruno not even carded let alone sent off for that incident with the official?

United fans thinking VAR is out to get them is ridiculous.
