    Hey,

Was a big Phantom FM fan back in their early 2000’s pirate days.

This is a long shot, they used to do a club night in Whelan’s called Phantasm. The ad for it had a song that I can hear in my head by alas, no joy when searching for it online listening to various indie bands from the 90’s on. Sinister Pete did the voice over it.

Anyone remember the song from the ad?

    TIA

I probably heard the ad countless times but no idea about the song.

Am guessing it's in the territory of Stone Roses, Frames, Pixies, Gin Blossoms?

Can you narrow it down at all... male or female vocalist? Irish, British, American?

Guitar riff, opening bars of the song. Think it may have been an American band, male vocalist. Thought it might have been Goldfinger so I went through their 20 most popular songs but none of them fit.

Are there any archives of Phantom recordings online anywhere?

If my memory hasn't totally failed me then I think the track you're looking for is Lit - My own worst enemy.

Having said that, my memory regularly fails me.

Thank you Pete Reid. Absolute Legend! Knew it had to be late 90’s.

As I remember there was a duel between you and Sinister Pete. Some weeks it was him doing the ad and other weeks you and another DJ replaced his version on the air.

Any chance the library of the Two Petes talk rubbish will be released as a podcast?
