Liverpool beat United & Arsenal a combined 18-0 last season & now the former are picking up trophies and battling for 1st and Liverpool are battling for 8th,

    Life comes at you fast

I would expect that - but Boehlly has been acting as fantasy manager , siginging Galacticos , not sure Poch or Tuchel would be weak eneogh to let him continue with his fantasy , Football is a team game not a game of the best 11 wingers .

600 million spent, thats a team of 50 million per position - Bohelly needs to hand over the reigns, to a proper DoF , he is not even the main money man , I'm sure theyll be having a quiet word in his ear.

I think he has now handed it over. I'm not 100% certain on that though.

Ziyech is a dope. He deserved to get sent off for his sheer stupidity alone and it was a red card offence in my view. His overall performance was a disgrace and Potter should never select him again.

That goal was checked by VAR and no foul was detected. They must have judged it 50/50 with Mount backing into Dier.

I thought Poch ruled himself out of the Chelsea job in the past cause of his Spurs roots.

what is the story with Enrique these days? I would have thought any big club looking for a manager at the moment would be going all out for him.

As much as Boehly's mad January caused problems I dont think Potter has helped himself either.

He has seemed quite happy to chop and change personnel and formations as he went along.

But he didn't deliberately strike a player in the face. He pushed his shoulder and it glanced up. The force was also negligible. Can easily see why a yellow was given.

The yellow wasn't given for the push. Ziyech received no punishment for the push. The yellow was for the original foul which sparked the big coming together.

Why would he do that? He has no obligation to Spurs, sure didn't Spurs sack him and replaced him with Mourinho. Have no idea if Pochettino wants to manage Chelsea but if he doesn't it will have nothing to do with Spurs.

Brentford striker Ivan Toney has admitted breaching FA betting rules.

As first reported by the Daily Mail, Toney has pleaded guilty to many of the 262 charges issued by the FA last year, but has denied others. The FA assess these offences on a case-by-case basis, therefore any previous examples of players breaching betting rules are not expected to have a direct bearing on the severity of any punishment Toney might receive.

However, Sky Sports News understands Toney is facing a ban of at least six months if he is found to have bet on his own team.

be interesting to see how this plays out. he would have moved for big money in the summer

6 months seems very lenient for betting on your team.

I assume it goes up if he bet on himself doing things as it becomes clear match fixing.

Hard to make a call without knowing the specifics of the bets

If he had Brentford in a multi team accumulator it isn't as bad (not great still) as if he has very specific bets on himself to get a yellow etc..

Hope for his sake it isn't the latter, would be a real shame to throw away a career that looks like it is about to hit the next level.

The type of bet should be important. If he bets on himself to score or Brentford to win then its not the biggest deal. As then he's trying too score or have brentford win which he should be trying to do anyway.

Other bets on his own team should have very high punishments and then six months shouldn't be a big enough punishment.

I think it all relates to pre Brentford. I wonder did he think he would get away with it because he never expected to be so high profile.

A ban of at least 6 months which suggests it will be more. I'm assuming any bets on himself and his team were positive ones i.e him to score his team to win etc if there were any dodgy ones as regards him to be booked his team to lose it would be a lifetime ban for potential fixing. I do find it ironic that Toney is banned for using a product he spends his days advertising and being plastered on all his clothes etc.

Conor Clifford was banned for six months and fined £600 for 112 breaches of the FA rule E8. If Brentford are lucky whatever ban he gets is before the end of this season so a portion of it is served during the summer months when the league breaks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,869 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

A 6 month ban would have him back playing in September or October. Wouldn't be the worst for him, especially with no summer tournament.

I wouldn't think it would put off clubs buying him too much although some will say a hard no. It would be the same as an injury at the start of the season, which is not uncommon. He could train away and adapt to the new team in the background, without the added pressure.

Someone in the west London area has just had 10 grand on Ivan Toney being banned for 6 months!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

Was Probably Toney himself hedging his bets. If he’s banned he needs an income from somewhere.

Edit: I forgot Brentford is west London , Joke went over my head! I’ve literally spelt out the joke!!!

    No worries :)

I recall a story doing the rounds back in the day "alleging" that Harry Redknapp placed a big bet on a treble that, if all three outcomes came in, looked like dooming his West Ham United to the drop. The results didn't come in, and Harry didn't get fired, and didn't need the "nest egg" if he got his P45!

Everton time wasting 5 minutes into the game. Be interesting to see how long it takes for the ref to do anything about it.

So studs up over the ball isn't necessarily a red...seems mad

Fabinho could easily have been sent off.

Was actually quite a bad/lazy tackle on his part. Was lucky he didn't get a red.

Toney - footballers are so **** stupid. What was he thinking

Everton's fixtures for late March, April and early May look fairly grim. Their next two games (Forest away, Brentford home) could be crucial for them, I think they might need to win both.
