Sr Petersburg may be re-opened, but FR 24 shows two flights to Murmansk turning around within the last hour or so and heading back South. Weather? I doubt it.

I wonder if they are actually a bit spooked by the oil refinery hit. Might be that Ukraine have actually put together a longer-range attack ability and Moscow are now going to try to build up the narriive of being the victim under attack?

Indeed. Get your Bingo cards out everyone! Bonus points if his next post mentions Nazis. I'll also accept "Ukraine violated ceasefire first"

Not seen any tone shift in the media pointing towards abandoning the people of Ukraine who have been brutally attacked by putins military, conscripts and released prisoners. In fact the only related reports on main stream media I've seen have been completely in support of the Ukrainian victims of putin's war. The EU and other civilised countries are getting great value for money in supporting Ukraine as the Ukrainian armed forces seem to be doing a great job of destroying the military forces of putin which is helping anyone living close to russia be safer from further attacks. Are you confusing russian propaganda with main stream media?

Let them march to Mariupol and see for themselves just what they've done.

Sure they will believe that was Ukraine attacking Ukraine.

Some of the Russians are just too far down the rabbit hole. Give it a few generations and Russia will effectively be like North Korea with alternative history being thought. It's starting but will take a few generations for those who know life and the truth outside of Russia to die off.

How about "Ukraine is corrupt: kill the children"?

It looks like history is starting up again.

You'd hope that would be the case but unfortunately the Russian economy isn't suffering like we would have hoped. I think sometimes we in the west live in a little bit of a bubble and think everyone in the world has the same morals and viewpoints as ourselves but the reality is they don't and many many countries, populations and governments could care less about Ukraine and are prepared to do business with whoever.

Western countries may issue an ultimatum to Ukraine to persuade it to negotiate with Russia if no significant progress is made on the frontline by the fall, Bild reports, citing information from US and German government circles.

At the same time, the West will provide Ukraine with new weapons to help it regain control of the occupied territories, the newspaper writes.

    I hope this isn't true.

They procrastinate over some weapons for at least a year, promise weapons and then renage on those promises, at least partially, constantly say no to weapons Ukraine says it needs, like aircraft, and then they pull this shit, after repeatedly saying whatever it takes, whatever Ukraine needs and so on. Is this psy ops by the Germans to try and sow disension among Ukraine's allies so they can improve their chances of getting back to cheap gas for German industry, ASAP?

🇵🇱 Poland will hand over 10 Leopard 2A4 tanks, as well as 60 T-72 and PT-91 Twardy tanks to Ukraine within a few weeks. Michał Dworczyk, Minister of the Polish Prime Minister's Office, said that this will happen after the training of Ukrainian crews is completed.

Ukraine received the first four Leopard 2A4s on February 24. In total, Poland promised 14 such vehicles.

Good stuff. Pitty they can't see their way to handing over those Mig-29s, but they are doing a lot already.

There are many, many reasons for countries to care about eachother - at least your typical country - even Turkey and Hungary , be it on a social , cultural, financial or economic level. So , no matter how extreme one country behaves towards another country - such as Ru against Ukr - it would be to Russias significant advantage to trade, socialise and have cultural connections with other countries. More progress is guaranteed on all fronts because of all the interlinks in those sectors

BURpt RUSSIA have now thrown out the WINDOW all those opportunities and I cannot see your typical nation doing BUSINESS with it for a VERY, VERY long time . Where it might not have been the case in the past it substantially will. Not be the case in the future. The phrase ‘ that was then, this is now: comes to mind

I'm not talking about their economy.

I'm talking about North Korea where Kim is worshiped like a god, where they are basically brainwashed from childhood.

It's taken years to do as you need the older generation to die out while the new generations are brainwashed.

You can see the video of kids in Russia with cardboard tanks littered with the Z symbol, obviously being thought the tripe the Kremlin comes out with (bio labs, west is at war with Russia etc...) they in turn will pass that alternative history to their kids etc...

These long distance strikes might be down to a new Ukrainian made offensive drone with a range of up to 1,000 km.

In June last year there was a strike on a Tu-22M3 bomber at Dyagilevo airfield, SE of Moscaw, about 770 km from kyiv:

    Untitled Image

The Kremlin blamed Ukraine for strikes on two Russian air bases—at the Engels-2 air base in Saratov located some 600 kilometers (about 375 miles) east of Ukraine, and near Ryazan, on Monday.

A third airbase was then hit the following day. https://censor.net/en/photo_news/3385123/partially_damaged_russian_tu22m3_at_dyagilevo_airfield_photos

Since the orcs claimed Ukraine had used old 70's Soviet era TU-141 drones, it's likely they recovered and examined wreckage. Interestingly, wreckage of the same type of drone was found earlier in Croatia, but without a warhead, if memory serves.

    TU-141 drone.jpg

Later I saw references on Ukrainian Telegram channels that they were developing their own long range attack drones. I have to admit that at the time I thought it might just be a cover story to explain mysterious explosions in Orcistan that were the work of special forces so as to reduce the chances of extensive searches, but now it seems more likely the stories were true.

    This is from 29-1-22:

Ukraine will soon have attack drones with a range of 1000 km and a 75 kg charge. This level of striking power is already dangerous for any metropolis. Russians, taught by their own bombing of Ukraine, are beginning to think about their own security.

📌Our drones are already reaching Russia to a depth of 200 km. A thousand kilometers is almost two distances to Moscow. Russian military warehouses and other facilities near major cities may become targets. n cities or drone debris. Therefore, Russians may need bomb shelters.

📌Information about the new Ukrainian attack drone is still classified. "Ukroboronprom previously reported the characteristics of the drone's flight range and the weight of its charge. By the way, the Iranian "Shahed" drone has a weight of less than 50 kg. The Ukrainian drone will carry almost as much explosives as HIMARS (90 kg). This is enough to destroy combat points and military facilities in Russia.

    Then later on 13-1-23:

Ukrainian 1000 km strike drone has already been tested in the sky - Ukroboronprom

"And we are moving to the stage of testing under the influence of electronic warfare (EW). After we successfully test the drone under the influence of electronic warfare, we hope to be able to test it in combat use," Ukroboronprom spokeswoman Natalia Sad.

So these long range strikes could very well be a sign that Ukraine has new domestically produced long range strike drone, or drones. So not really a mystery.

Another Moscow-Murmansk almost back at Petersburg, having flown almost the whole way up to Murmansk (1340 Irish time). There are other Murmansk flights operating, but that's at least 3 late turnbacks to-day

Between GLSDBs and longer range drones the Russians must be getting nervous,

And we've yet to see the Ukrainan counter offensive

Orban would turn against his own nation & people & support RuZZian oppression, subjugation & mass murder, just as happened in 1956.

He is a traitor & a quisling, collaborating with foreign imperialism.

The EU & NATO, should stop all financial aid, subsidies & military equipment to this evil backstabber.

I honestly never heard of this quote before but I think it's apt for these troubled times:

“A free press can, of course, be good or bad, but, most certainly without freedom, the press will never be anything but bad.” Albert Camus.

Particularly applies to: [insert your favourite authoritarian hellhole here].
