Signal quality vs signal strength

Hi all,

Having had problems with channels breaking up, I have installed a one for all booster. Signal quality was very good but strength was poor, but using the booster signal strength in the 90's but quality has dropped into the 20's. What next. Using an external Omni directional antenna.

Can you post the aerial type you use, terrestrial aerials will normally be directional.

That's probably your problem, not great unless you're situated near a transmitter.

A basic contract aerial, directional, Group A or Group K depending on which transmitter covers your location

Use the Saorview coverage checker to find the recommended transmitter for your location and from there the correct aerial group.

tbis will show you the direction to point a directional aerial ideally mounted above all nearby roofs pointed towards the transmitters.

The universal Omni directional.you have don't work well if low down and not that close to a transmitter.

In line boosters don't really help 99% of the time.

Polarisation may have been wrong too. What transmitter do you appear to be served by?
