😂 now you're replying to my posts multiple times, good man

clearly wound up because someone poked holes in your delusion that US "diplomacy" is just threats to go to war

Newsflash - Biden staffers talked with Russia before he had even got on a plane in Washington. Then he flew only to Poland, and then got a train from Poland to Kiev. No F22 escort into Kiev like you said. No last minute phone call to inform Russia that they were already in Ukraine and if you dont like it, its an act of war".

He had taken a 10-hour train journey from Poland to reach Kyiv in secret, later returning to Poland. Russia was informed about the trip a few hours before President Biden's departure for "deconfliction purposes", a US official said.

    ...

In a scene that added drama to the most high-profile visit to Ukraine since the war began, air raid sirens wailed while President Biden and Mr Zelensky were in St Michael's Cathedral in central Kyiv. The sirens sound regularly in the city.

And seeing as you dont believe that a MiG31 taking off in Belarus is cause for air raid sirens in Ukraine, here is a Ukrainian source that states it is the explicit reason for air raid alarms on that day

An air-raid siren has been announced throughout the territory of Ukraine on 20 February.

    ...

Details: A MiG-31K fighter jet, which can carry a hypersonic Kinzhal missile, was spotted taking off in Belarus.

At 11:27, an escort fighter took off from Baranavichy airfield, and at 11:30, the MiG itself took off from Machulishchy airfield.

    ...

Background: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that one of Ukraine's "key" Western partners is expected to visit Kyiv. On 20 February, a number of streets were blocked in the capital, including near the railway station and the US Embassy, but the Foreign Ministry has not yet said who exactly is expected.

Later, based on photos and videos of eyewitnesses that appeared on the Internet, it became obvious that US President Joseph Biden had arrived in the capital of Ukraine.

It is impossible to deny - the air raid sirens were due to MiGs in the air in Belarus, capable of launching Kinzhal (not Iskander) hypersonic missiles. Missiles which the Ukrainians themselves have admitted are incapable of shooting down.

The president would have been at risk here except for the fact Russia gave security guarantees and obviously ordered no strikes anywhere near Kiev or further west on that day. Hence the US admission that they contacted Russia before leaving Washington for "deconfliction purposes".

    Putin's speech so far:

Ukraine and West started the war

Russia was facing a Nazi threat

He tried to solve Donbas "peacefully"

The Ukrainians were pursuing "nuclear and biological" weapons

More blame on the West and LBGT

    A) that would require 16 accurately targeted cruise missiles who all reached their target.

    B) I don't believe him anyway, unless his definition of "cripple" is cause logistical difficulties for a few days.

Putin needs to get some American speech writers because this is absolute junk.

An 8yr old would come up with a better address. Even Leo with his movie quotes looks good next to this.

I don't think it is meant to be anything more.

It is like the Nigerian prince email scam, aimed at the most gullible.

Anyone with half a brain can see through it, for them it becomes a loyalty test to play along with it.

Boom. Knocked it out of the park.

    Facts > fantasy.

    There will be salt.

Putin is a dictator. Putin should face justice at the Hague. All good Russians should work to depose Putin. Russias war in Ukraine is illegal and morally wrong.

No dramatic big announcements in the speech, just a repeat of previous propaganda and obviously rattled by the poor morale in the military (promising incentives to troops and their families).

    Rambling lies, distortion and fantasy.

Could do with some Stalinesque ovations, where everyone is terrified to be the first one to stop applauding, to enliven proceedings.

Safest job in Orcistan seems to be if you are one of the million or so internal security goons who crack down on protests and any sign of anti Putin expression.

It should have been clear to any male student when the last mobilisation took place, that they would be next and they should have left the country while they could. I am sure some did. - give yourself an A.

Putin was like the father of the bride without the cheer, who doesn’t know that less is more in a speech and goes off on a ramble

Nope, what he's really worried about is what China is always worried about, and that's their internal security. In the same way it's likely Putin didn't want Ukraine fighting off the Orc style corruption that had tainted it and then joining the EU, thriving and soon surpassing Orcistan at every level, the Chinese are likely worried that the wholesale defeat of a former socialist juggernaut might have negative consequences for their ability to continue to indoctrinate and control their own population. If they become neighbour to a former socialist empire undergoing internal dissolution, their own populace might start thinking, hmmm, don't we live in a socialist state; is that our future?

But that isn't the only aspect that likely concerns them. Orcistan being defeated possibly scuppers their own plans for seizing Taiwan and would dimminish the enthusiasm for this they have tried so hard to instill in their populace. Xi has been outspoken about re-integrating Taiwan - Chinese for violent subjugation - and likely thinks a resounding defeat of Orcistan might destabilise his own position as dictator for life.

"We urge relevant countries to immediately stop fueling the fire, blaming China, and hyping up the rhetoric 'today Ukraine, tomorrow Taiwan'," the minister said."

Mobilising students would be a real indication of desperation. All along Putin has been trying to walk a tightrope between keeping the army supplied with fresh bodies while at the same time ensuring that the sons of the middle classes weren't going off to die. You would have to think though that if you start to tap into college students then that's exactly who you will be mobilising.

I did notice though that the institutes mentioned specifically are in Siberian cities, far away from Moscow and St. Petersburg. If they ever start tapping up universities in those cities then it really will be desperate times.

    Which list? Russian?

You know what the strange thing about that? It is not important. It does not matter if Russia views us as friendly or not. Their opinion has no impact or bearing on us.

It is rather sad that a country of that size can actually be viewed as inconsequential by a country as small as ours.

Well timmy is extrapolating just a bit. Assuming BBC article is correct we know the US told Russia he was on his way to Ukraine. How Russia responded to that information (with nothing, with "security guarantees", a statement that, "well that's on Biden's head" or...the unlikley extreme...making threats to kill the Russophobic/Nazi US Pres. with a missile), we cannot say.

I doubt Putin was happy about Biden's visit (!) It really, really riled up a lot of the right people posting here yesterday which was great anyway.
