like a different sport, the contrast in quality.

Not much to fear from Scotland. Like a different sport really

    Hogg failed his HIA

Wales basic skills are so poor for an international team. Scotland not much better mind.

Almost looks like a different sport to what France and Ireland were playing, tbh. It's all a bit ponderous.

Turner hits North with a high arm to the head. Probably yellow as North was falling down into the tackle.

not a swinging arm according to Brace. Certainly seemed like a swinging arm on replay… North dipped his head and then Turner goes in for him. Not exactly mitigation

How did Wales not score…. Harder to make a balls of it but they succeeded in doing so.

Wales have been much better in contact this week. They're winning far more collisions. Their attack is incredibly basic though. Going for the direct carry with no dummy runners to even keep the Scottish defence guessing.

Scotland haven't been great. Not able to keep much possession or territory, but taking their scores when they can.

This lad Dyer has had a bit of a horror show the last two weeks.

How many times has George North had to retire from games because of concussion? Surely there’s an issue there.

So its not too many rolls anymore by the looks of things. There was a penalty given against a Scottish player who rolled once.

Him and Sexton are the two I'd worry about most in terms of their long term health.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,521 ✭✭✭tanko

He’s back on i see, must’ve passed the HIA. I’d worry about Sextons ability to play a World Cup campaign.

The Wales lineout has been dreadful all game. Not the fault of Ken Owens either. Looks like the lifters arent fully aware if the call. They'd be winning if they had a functional set piece.

How can anyone look at this Scottish team and think they will beat us?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,901 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

He doesnt look a distant cousin of a rugby player. no hands, no positioning sense, cant kick.

He must be really really really fast.

Fantastic offload from Russell for that try

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,901 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

They will be a sterner test than wales, but completely beatable

    Wales are truly dreadful

    Fun times for Gatty.

    Old lads - past it.

    Young lads - useless.

England at home and trips to Rome and Paris still to come for them. They might not even win a game - Italy will be lining them up in Rome.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,901 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

Gatland must be regretting his decision to come back, its not like there is even a crop of young players he can promote because their u20s have been gash for a while

They will be lucky to beat italy.

Looked flat to me. Wales didn't protest. No mention of it being forward by the TV commentators either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,423 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

The half arsed effort to prevent that Steyn try was bizarre. Throw yourself at him ! More like an effort to pat Steyn down.

Gatland has to be worried what team he has to work with. They are seriously short of talent or game changing players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,187 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Scotland have a strong lineout maul and their counterattack is incredibly dangerous. They've scythed through Wales on the fringes.

But much like their performance against England their phase play is pretty mediocre. They'll be a big challenge for Ireland as any sloppiness in our own possession will be punished. France did that today and but for some excellent scramble defence they could have scored more trys.

I feel like if Ireland can keep possession they'll make plenty of ground and get create some good scoring opportunities. Wales got into the Scotland 22 on plenty of occasions and couldn't convert into points due to their own sloppiness.

Really nice play from the Scots, looking forward to Ireland playing them.

We wont give vdmervue the room he is getting either. Scotland are doing a good job of getting him involved and wales are doing a terrible job of stopping it. He is making great yards everytime and bringing 3/4 defenders onto his sideline to stop him leaving room elswhere.

It suits scotland to attack from side to side with russell getting time on the ball. Stop russell and you stop vdmervue
