Funny enough body position for that finish. Facing the wrong way

    Try Ireland + conversion!

20-7 to Ireland! 10 minutes left in the first half.

Looked line a try, but you could hardly say the evidence was completley conclusive without a side angle video.

Try grounding looked a little suss there but thought we should have had a PT from the collapsed maul so I’ll take it!

Prendergast has a monster boot. Very impressed by him

One thing that needs to get better in rugby is yellow cards not being given when a try is scored from a penalty advantage. So often you see a team fouling persistently and then when the try is eventually scored no further action is taken by the ref. Yellow cards should still be issued.

French SH hasnt copped onto his arm getting pulled from the ruck yet.

3 times now hes been caught out.

We've had France on the rack and for the 2nd time we concede and incredibly dumb penalty that leads to France getting a 5m line out and eventually a try...

I like that refereeing. They didn't need a 2nd warning before another yellow.

    French discipline has been appalling.

We should set a scrum here with them with two tight 5 forwards in the bin.

We should probably be kicking more, playing the percentages, putting their lineout under more pressure but fcuk me its great to watch a team that just wants to keep it in the hands and knows how to.

    Prendergast really has it all.

Yeah couldn’t get over his pace there going back on that kick through.

    Extremely exciting player

The only real negative from that first half is how are we only 6 points up...

    Good first half.

Been impressed by Hadden, Mangan, Gunne, Hugh Cooney and Prendergast.

Poor game management from us at the end there.

Scrum is dominant and their tighthead and a flanker in the bin - should’ve scrummed it every time

Doing some quick math in my head, and I’d take 5 guys from this team before anyone from last years. This is a crazily talented team.

Seeing how unhappy EOS is being involved in this fixtures as opposed to the senior game is warming the cockles of my ankles.

Tbh this is a very talented squad but their game management is poor.

The prop Mccarthy is very impressive, mobility of a BR, brains and vision of a 10. Great player going to be interesting to see how he handles the balance between adding size to be a solid prop and keeping mobile to maintain his effectiveness around the field.

With the boot prendergast has they should be looking for 50/22’s and turning the french backfield a bit more.

    That is incredible defence. Sensational.

Jackman seems too busy talking to actually know what's going on. Irish attack is very narrow

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,122 ✭✭✭Shehal

Are you **** joking....how is THAT hit a penalty only?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,867 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

Commentators have told us twice now that the hooker, who was subbed has been sin binned.

If the stopped for a second and listened to the ref talking they would know he said penalty only for that incident involving the Irish hooker knocking on.

Should have been a yellow for the French tighthead (which would have been a red). It was a high shot on a player who didn’t have the ball, obvious yellow.

Christ that’s serious pace from Gleeson for such a big man!

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

Gleeson is such an athlete. A big man with some solid wheels by the looks of it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,122 ✭✭✭Shehal

That play there is why I think this team is brilliant from Gleeson, and then they show why everyone is frustrated by immediately f'ing up all the good work by trying to over egg the pudding with the McNabney carry.
