When you change bank account details on mywelfare.ie, how long does it take in practice?

It does say: Your Change Payment request has now been submitted. You will receive a notification to confirm this. Please check your bank accounts and allow up to 10 days for the change to happen.

I just switched from my BOI to local CU. It took two minutes. Literally.

I know it took you that long to change details, but how long does it take welfare to change?

I meant that it took them two minutes to change. My payment will go to my CU now from the 8th.

Ideally they recommend you change your bank details a few days before next payment, so if paid on a Wednesday for example , best to change it after you've recieved your payment or next day, I'd not advise anyone to update details on a weekend day.
