CEX will also take the used sticks and give €7 cash. So a month's Sports and Sports Extra works out at net €8 per month!!

NOW TV Smart TV Stick, A - CeX (IE): - Buy, Sell, Donate (webuy.com)

How would they make any money on that? That offer won't last long.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,861 ✭✭✭keano25

How do you remove your details from stick before trading in?

Where does it say on ad that the stick has Sky Sports and Soorts Extra on it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,915 ✭✭✭lertsnim

It doesn't. It shows how much they will buy a used Now TV stick for.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,404 ✭✭✭✭vicwatson

Yes are personal details stored on these sticks?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,048 ✭✭✭Citizenpain

Keeping the button pressed for a while factory resets it . You’ll see lights flashing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 410 ✭✭bugsyb4

Could you not just plug in these sticks and sign out would that not get rid of your personal details or is there something I am missing here??

Decent enough deal as I have 4 of these sticks sitting in a room with codes used off 3 of them. I have a load more working away with Tvs!

Anyone know do they need remotes too? If could hold onto them be happier.

    I would assume they do

There's an option within the menus to do a factory reset, this removes the account and the initial 'voucher' from the stick and it then runs through the initial setup after this is run. My assumption is that on factory reset the account details are not recoverable from the stick, no harm changing password of your account after to be sure.

I believe CEX need the remotes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,836 ✭✭✭Doodah7

For an 'A' grade trade-in, CEX need everything except the batteries: stick, remote, plug, cable and box.

'B' grade is everything except the box (and batteries).

Factory reset will obviously wipe everything. CEX wipe them anyway as part of their testing procedure.

Getting the same €13.26 per month for 3 months Sports offer when I go to cancel as well. Not aware of any working codes that are better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 103 ✭✭Big Daddy Kane

I currently have sports extra @9.99e a month and Boost @3e per month.

/ both up until April 2023.

My parents have the Sky Sports offer of 13.50e a month until April 2023, hopefully we get another offer that will see us both through until May (end of Prem league!) as we both share accounts for the games.

100% you need the remote. To get an A grade at CEX, you need every original accessory and a like-new box also.

I was emailed this offer today:

€4.99 per month for 6 months Cinema Membership, expires 6th Feb

I see in GB Now are increasing the price of Sky Sports from £34 to £35 and Boost from £5 to £6.

Hoping they won't do the same here, €5 is bad enough for 1080p as it is!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,025 ✭✭✭Sultan of Bling

If they're increasing it by a pound over there, it will be 2 quid over here.

Maybe! It's hard to know since the ent/movies pack are €12/£10 each but Boost was €3/£5 when if first launched then rose to €5/£5.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 410 ✭✭bugsyb4

Traded in 2 old NOW TV sticks today was only expecting €7 so when he said to me "you won't be getting much for them I am afraid" thought balls probably only get €5 ended up €8 each, a small win 😄😄

He must have thought I paid full whack for the sticks not the €15 I actually spent...

My Sky Sports membership is up next month, they are offering me €13.26 per month for 3 months which is great. You have to navigate through 5 cancellation screens to get there!

Jesus, that's incredible value. Didn't think that'd ever be possible!

I like the €20 Sky Sports deal for 3 months but unfortunately the Sports Extra €10 deal is for 6 months which I don't really want. Will keep checking in, hopefully something appears.

You can cancel at anytime if that helps. You don't need to keep it for the full period.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,733 ✭✭✭sheroman01

Oh I didn't know that! That would be very handy, although I don't wanna get stung for those extra few months. It does say "for 6 months", and further down it says "You can cancel your Membership at any time in My Account". So maybe it is fine to cancel any time. Just seems too easy for a company like this, having dealt with Sky and their horrible T&C's for years!

    -----

    Sports Extra Month Membership

    €9.99

    70% Saving €9.99/month for 6 months

    Next payment of €9.99 on 1 Mar 2023. Then €33.99 / month from 1 Aug 2023

Your Sports Extra Membership starts immediately and your card will be charged €9.99. You'll be charged €33.99 a month (after your offer, if you're on one), and the matches keep rolling unless cancelled. Monthly memberships auto-renew until cancelled. You can cancel your Membership at any time in My Account.

All 'memberships' are a rolling monthly contract. You can cancel at any time in any month and can still watch for what ever time remains for that particular month.

The deals are not a contract period, but an offer period that has a limited date, after which the membership will revert to standard pricing if you keep it. You can accept a 6 month offer and cancel after 1 week - you will only be liable for the first month for which they have already taken payment.

Unfortunately the entertainment pass for €3 pm isn't working anymore 😕

Does anyone have anything better than the 3 for the price of 1 (€4 pm) plse?

Any cinema or hayu codes? 😊

My ACC expires in 4 days and they haven't sent any offers yet, I went through the cancellation process to see if I got an offer but didn't actually want to cancel lol just see any offers-

How many times do you press 'continue cancelling' before you're actually cancelled I wonder?

And if you cancel can you just sign up again with an offer code (from here) or are they only valid for active accounts and you have to pay full whack if you do cancel then want to sign up again at some stage?

    Thanks in adv!
