Would it be a straight forward cable swap if one wanted to replace the lead from a wallbox/zappi/hypervolt etc with the cable and plug of a Tesla charger?

The benefit envisaged would be the ability to use the button on the tesla head to open the charger flap and release the charger when done. I know I chose against a Tesla wall connector because it has no solar integration and is not very future proofed as a result.

Not sure, there’s not only power wires in the (Zappi2) cable, there’s also communication cables and dunno if there are in the Tesla “plug”

I also am.not sure if the tesia cable uses a separate dedicated wire to power the unlock charge door button.

You can buy aftermarket unlock tesia door buttons like this:

You could glue this near the wall box or tie it near the plug.

There also was custom, modified plugs or leads with a battery powered button on the plug specifically for tesia owners using non tesia hole charge units. These were hacked/modified plugs to add the button and the power for the button was a battery hidden inside.

I think the linked button is a good compromise unless you are a real no button Tesla fan!
