South city home insurance providers?

The annual hunt for home insurance is on, but getting the annual "we don't insure your area due to subsidence/flooding" responses.

Who are you insured with? A broker told us all their insurers came back and said they don't cover our area.

Not bothered about subsidence (we're underpinned) but "flooding" is BS in our area.

i went with this crowd Personal Insurance | Motor, Life, Health Insurance - McCarthy Insurance Group (mig.ie) - similar situation have Subsidence , house pinned so house not insured for that . Not in a flooded area though ...

Yep +1 for MIG, they sorted us as well, same situation

Also recommend MIG . Not sure if any other brokers can do it.

Cheers. I'll give them a shout tomorrow. Tried ombg in years gone by, but they're o Leary now and could do nothing for me.

We're not in a flooding area either, zero history of flooding, but that's what o Leary came back with.

Similar here. Unless gravity reverses and water starts flowing uphill, this place is never going to be flooded, yet most insurers turned us down due to flood risk.

What areas do have subsidence issues? All of the southside? I've noticed a few houses around Ballinlough (1950s/1960s estates) get what looked like underpinning work done recently.

Subsidence from an insurance point of view is probably all the South city. Actual subsidence is less so, but ballinlough would certainly suffer badly. Turners cross area too.
