The two all Ireland senior club finals are on tg4 next Sunday. The Munster league will have to be online somewhere if it’s that day.

I'm fairly surprised too, she's only 30 but has a lot of miles put in already in fairness. She could stilll do a fine job as a corner forward, has oceans of skill and experience and will be a real loss. Maybe the time and effort needed might be too much and real life needs to take the driving seat. I've watched her play for over a decade and she always gave it everything - a real icon of a forward and will be hard to replace.

Cork 1-6 Tipp 1-9 HT. Cork have failed to score since the 20th minute when leading 1-6 to 0-5

Cork 3-14 Tipp 1-19FT. Tipp 6 up with 5 or 6 min left but 1-1 from Jack O'Connor helped us to sneak the win

That last 10 mins was among the worst I’ve seen. Completely imploded, free men across the park and no intensity whatsoever. Hopefully this isn’t a sign of things to come.

Same old same and so much for likes of Kevin Walsh on the management team what’s that costing Sherlock with 14 points out of 19 can’t let in 3 goals and expect to win games

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 34,977 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Interesting game today, The last time we played Meath, I think they played us off the park. Today, we lead for the majority of the game. It went wrong from the 50th minute onwards. Maguire gave the ball away, badly, to a Meath player and they scored a goal. We were fairly ragged from then on to the end of the game, which is a pity.

Our style of play was quite good at times but we allowed their forwards run through too often - they should have been stopped/fouled, like what they were doing to us.

We cannot rely on Sherlock, 13 points today, all the time. The other forwards need to finish themselves. Powter was unlucky his fisted effort went straight to the keeper, but maybe it should have been buried beforehand anyway.

    Plenty to work on.

Typical Cork football eh! When you think we finally might be going somewhere, you end up getting brought right back down to earth again!

I know the hurlers are in a barren spell as well with regards to success, but the Cork footballers (with the exception of that late 80's and early 90's period and the 2008 to 2012 era) have always been a frustrating team to support.

The reality is we won't be challenging for all Irelands again until we get back up to division one. It's only the first game but we're already on the back foot now.
