They'll probably be used to attack civilians in West Ukraine whilst simultaneously keeping the poles and slovakians on edge.

The Polish shouldn't tolerate them. Tell Belarus it's considered and act of aggression and if they stay there they will be destroyed. That they're not willing to risk another "stray" missile incursion.

If attacks are launched from Belarus then Minsk will be toast in 2 hours. Lukasshenko has been told that on no uncertain terms.

Remember this week we saw the rule's which Russia laid out that would bring Belarus into the war , including threats against the state from other countries,

Funny Russia deciding what can and can't happen when it comes to Belarus and Ukraine

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,291 ✭✭✭✭Gatling

They have already launched strikes from inside Belarus,

It's likely the main reason Nato Intelligence gathering aircraft have been flying very close to the Belarusian polish border , along with lativan and Lithuanian airspace

Russia think they can decide the rules for the entire war. What constitutes a war crime. Who can supply weapons, what those weapons can be, when there'll be a ceasefire. The list is endless. Another one isn't surprising

A good sight, Ukrainian forces already training on Bradleys. The Ukrainan 47th Assault Brigade seems to be the focus for integration of Nato and Western systems

Mud is the universal enemy for all forms of transport, either wheeled or tracked, and it does not show any favoritism, be it Ruzzian or Ukrainian, sub-zero or saharan temps and condition's, you have some chance, but mud? Nope. Well, given the politics surrounding the war, there's always going to be publicity about it. What is true and what is false in this publicity is something else. And then, you have the information deliberately fed to the Russians, and psychologically, it drives them nuts, and that's just in the Kremlin. Imagine what it does to the conscripts on the ground? ( assuming they get to hear it) Every time some country announces a new delivery weapons, the Kremlin announces new threats, and targets the donor Country with literally fire and brimstone ( Nuclear weapons.....again) But I'm pretty sure that only Ukraine knows what Ukraine is planning.

I think they would be strategic reserves they never planned on getting to be used. But even before this there has been plenty of foot dragging.

That's kindof the problem. They haven't been, and it was well known for years. The German military was saying for ever that they were stupidly underfunded with respect to operational budgets which includes maintenance. From a couple years ago, for example.

The Bundeswehr is due to take over leadership of NATO's multinational Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF) at the start of next year, but doesn't have enough tanks, the Defense Ministry document said.

Specifically, the Bundeswehr's ninth tank brigade in Münster only has nine operational Leopard 2 tanks — even though it promised to have 44 ready for the VJTF — and only three of the promised 14 Marder armored infantry vehicles.

The paper also revealed the reason for this shortfall: a lack of spare parts and the high cost and time needed to maintain the vehicles. It added that it was also lacking night-vision equipment, automatic grenade launchers, winter clothing and body armor.

The German air force is also struggling to cover its NATO duties, the document revealed. The Luftwaffe's main forces, the Eurofighter and Tornado fighter jets and its CH-53 transport helicopters, are only available for use an average of four months a year — the rest of the time the aircraft are grounded for repairs and rearmament.

Most of a year ago, the German government announced a massive boost in spending, but some folks have noticed not much has actually happened. The reason is that the funding really was just going to things the German military had been asking for for years. As this interviewee observes, the funding has allowed the vision of the Bundeswehr from about 2015 of what it thought it should be like in 2030 to actually happen, but it has little relevance to what it thinking in 2023 with a Russian war in full swing what it should be like.

anyone who thinks the Germans can't flip on a penny when it comes to war.... oh dear

Thousands of tanks are being supplied by NATO, of which how many Ukrainians are trained to operate them?

Oh indeed, Slava Ukraini… but in the real world, not Call of Duty world.

When you heading to Ukraine to fight against the Russians?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,184 ✭✭✭✭Timberrrrrrrr

That's because there are no NATO boots on the ground, will you be heading over to fight? Or does your bravery not extend further than the glow of your computer screen?

You know, I'm pretty fed up of hearing this infantile response.

As if doing the big, brave GI Joe thing is the only contribution a person can make in a war and by inference belittling all the people who contribute in no less valuable ways, say by making and maintaining the uniforms, weapons, ammunition, rations, communications etc etc etc, or even just continuing in their daily lives, working and paying taxes, or making sure that what's going on in Ukraine doesn't go unrecognised.

    Grow up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,184 ✭✭✭✭Timberrrrrrrr

So what are you doing to help the people of Ukraine?

I see the same people on here day in day out demanding the EU/UK/US send in troops, tanks, weapons. I see the same people calling for all out war across the continent (and believe me that's what it would be) yet they are not the ones in danger, they just demand that others do this.

Thankfully keyboard warriors are just that, they demand everything without even the slightest idea of what that entails.

You tell me to "grow up" while you and your ilk sit at your computer demanding things you haven't the slightest idea about, go back to playing call of duty, the adults are in charge and they will make the decisions, and if it does come to fighting they will be the ones doing it while you cower under your bed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,184 ✭✭✭✭Timberrrrrrrr

Well that's a blatant lie, I argued against banning and indeed interning EVERY Russian person on the continent as you and others stupidly proposed.

Rheinmetall said that it had over a hundred Marder light tanks ready to send to Ukraine last February, the German Govt declined, we now hear that they are hoping to get them delivered by end of Q1.

Any weapon systems that will cause problems for Russia, the policy is to delay and be the last to send.

There is rumours in Germany that the coalition partners are talking about a no confidence vote in Scholz, trying to put pressure to break Socialist solidarity with Russia. I think it will take the vote to force it, hard to change all life time outlook.

"It’s always a similar pattern: First they say ‘no,’ then they fiercely defend their decision, only to say ‘yes’ in the end. We are still trying to understand why the German government is doing this to itself." To quote the Ukrainian Foreign Minister this week.

Missiles fired a Kiev where fired from North direction using a ballistic trajectory hard to detect hence the late air raid warning a new first again in savagery which Russia keeps giving.

So Belarus is allowing it country to fire missiles at Ukraine

Poland should have war games on the border.

Ukraine should be given long range weapons to return fire on origins.

It wasn't a discussion about visas though it was a discussion about locking up every Russian citizen no matter how long they had been in European countries.

As for thinking I'm in any way pro-russian tour obviously clueless and not worth any more of my time, go back to playing war games on your pc and pretending you have a clue about how wars are fought.

Putins besty action friend... well there was me thinking it used to be yer man Segal. Now it appears it was this fella.

I suppose there are a few Russians that think Putin has lost his marbles.

PS Putin seems to like the Hollywood/actors lot, doesn't he? Putin in fantasy land and well down the ol rabbit hole.

    Dan.

Russians who stay silent are condoning this savagery

They deserve to be ostracised where ever they roam

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,184 ✭✭✭✭Timberrrrrrrr

Did you say the same about the Irish when the IRA were blowing up kids?

Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to see Putin get killed, Russia to pull out of Ukraine (totally) and to see that country become the new NK until such a time as deemed they can be welcome back into civilised society.

What I don't agree with is blaming every single Russian citizen, even those who haven't lived there for decades for the actions of Putin. You do know you can be totally against something without going public for all to see right?

Would you do it knowing you were putting your family back home at risk? Again it seems the ones who shout loudest are the ones who are in the safest places 🙄

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,395 ✭✭✭✭Furze99

Yes I agree - it is the moral duty of ALL Russians living in Ireland or elsewhere in Europe and the world, to get the message back to their families and communities back home that their state is engaged in an entirely illegal war and inflicting great damage and civilian casualties on their neighbours and former friends.

Every Russian living here who is silent is complicit in supporting this barbarity.

And in answer to our resident Russian Timberr, yes the vast majority of citizens of this Republic were appalled by the actions of the Provisional IRA and condemned them outright. Timberr must have a very simplistic grasp of Irish history.

How do you know Russians aren't contacting family and telling them whats going on?

I dont recall condemnation if Irish citizens from Americans, Canadians, Australians towards Irish citizens in their countries after kids were blown up by terrorists.

    As for "resident russian" 🙄

Did you say the same about the Irish when the IRA were blowing up kids?

I was barely a teen when the GFA came about so didn't have a well informed opinion of the IRA. However, growing up, I didn't know anybody who had a single supportive thing to say about the IRA.

    Stupid analogy.

yes the vast majority of citizens of this Republic were appalled by the actions of the Provisional IRA and condemned them outright

    Source?

As for Russian citizens abroad, what do you expect them to do?

If they speak out and gain attention they put themselves and their family's lives at risk. The FSB have shown that international borders are no limit to their meddling and assassination attempts. Ivan from Dublin protests against the war? Next thing you know a crackpot team of "tourists" are sent from Russia to go visit christchurch cathedral.

Weren't you in the Orc forces sent over by her Majesty's Government for a special military operation in the North of Ireland?

Not a mobik either but signed up for the payment like a Wagner soldier.
