"They call me the hot chocolate guru". No, they don't. Because no-one has called anyone that. Ever.

Ill take it over that "Shake it baby" Halloween one that made me want to scream it got played so much.

When ever I see that advert I think what about the children (only joking) no what about health and safety.

Great idea until kids copy it or some adult goes to take a sip and shoves a burning sparkler in their eye.

Wake me up when it's all over.

The food safety is back with the weird silver guy .... 75 !!!!! Now it's annoying but we were curious, is that the same woman thats in the millionaire raffle ad?

That human "thermometer" looks like Jimmy Saville painted silver.

I already found him creepy and thought he would give kids nightmares but now you've pointed that out he's genuinely terrifying.

Also, is the woman in that ad the same annoying eejit from the Xmas lotto ticket ad?

The “ Irelands edge add.” It’s probably been lambasted here already but I find it very funny particularly the last line shouted from the background “ can you speak up there Gerry “

They could nearly manage a new ad at this stage. Using one that's seven or eight years old now doesn't really cut it.

I doubt many people even notice it any more. The accident happened back in April 2014.

The laugh of a child that was killed by a drunk driver impacts me every time.

We need to stop referring to crashes caused by drunk drivers as 'accidents'. He didn't accidently sink eight pints before driving.

I've gone as far as muting that ad now when it comes on, and I'm definitely not a drink-drive advocate by any stretch, but I feel the advert is very jaded now and I doubt anyone takes the slightest notice of it any more. It has the same effect on me as hearing 'Fairy-tale of New York', i.e. irritation from over exposure to it over the years.

In fact, I'm convinced the type of person who gets drunk/stoned and then sits in and drives off, doesn't give a hoot about any tv messages or road safety adverts in the first place. The only deterrent is the fear of being caught with resultant severe penalties.

Pepsi Max ad. What kind of accent is that and why is the person so aggressive when they say "Pepsi Max, no sugar".

Also that new dominoes ad. Just remember someone letting out a roar in it for no reason. Awful.

Think it's oral-b electric toothbrushes. They open with the premise of a dentist establishing that an electric toothbrush cleans better than a traditional manual brush (I disagree), and then go on to tell and show us with an animated graphic how the oral-b electric toothbrush in particular, is unique and really great - as it has a swivel rotating head that can go right over the tooth and get into all the hard to reach places. It then cuts to someone using the brush where they have it placed perpendicular to the teeth as would be done with with any other toothbrush.

Absolutely. Even worse is “don’t let go of my hand..........this will be our year.....”. Grrrr. Couldn’t even tell you what those ads are for, which is surely defeating the purpose ?

Just when you think the dialogue in car ads can't get any worse along comes Skoda with a pretentious lead in about ancient Ireland and Newgrange culminating in the ludicrously hilarious claim that their engineers have tailored their headlights to the Irish dawn, or something. As if Liam Cunningham's spiel for Toyota wasn't nonsensical enough.

Am I the only one who thinks the father is a bit creepy!

    ______

In the end they were just greedy, they all knew one another and knew what to expect more money for no return, it was a secure cash flow, but in fairness they looked for what they wanted and fair dues to them for that, and wouldn't you be doing the same!

Just one more thing .... when did they return that car

Yeah, I had visions of the poor Gas Man being reported missing, sort of a Fred-and-Rosemary type situation.

Thought that was Liz Truss in the new An Post ad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,993 ✭✭✭✭castletownman

She is fine though so I let it slide.

The worst ad on the minute, and I think it only appears on Now TV ads because its British, is some gimp dancing to 'Just sold my car, to webuyanycar' in a knock-off of a recent dance tune. It's automatic mute territory.

I'm sure it's been mentioned... But the Lyons talk into tea "when they heat the water" does my head in. Actually causes temporary rage.
