Presume Warwick designated as covering TH. Backrow is on the light side.

    Benetton on fire here

The Ulster pack literally just stood there and watched Benetton turn them over...not even for one second did they think "hmmm lets do our job and clear him out"....

Ulster find different sort of ways of shooting themselves in the foot today.

If anyone is watching on a streaming service that just kept a live stadium feed during halftime, the DJ was on a f*cking warpath, hard early 90s rave, just crushing it.

Does Lowry ever catch a kick? Such an obvious weakness every match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,122 ✭✭✭Shehal

Would be nice is Ulster actually contributed something to the game other than just observing the opposition attack.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,122 ✭✭✭Shehal

For Ulster its just side to side, side to side and then Ulster either drop the ball or get turned over...rinse repeat of La Rochelle (1st half) really.

    No try.

Think that play says it all, Ulster's heads are just not in the game just like in the CC.

Ulster can just count themselves lucky that they arent against a team as good as La Rochelle otherwise they might as well left at HT.

Why would you kick on 5 metre line? They are a joke Ulster. Absolute joke.

Hume and Lowry are shadows of the players they were last season.

This time last year there were calls for them to be starting in the 6N. I'd be amazed if either of them are named in the squad in a few weeks.

Cooney is an absolutely awful passer of a rugby ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,122 ✭✭✭Shehal

Here's a challenge for Ulster, go one Benetton attack without conceding a cheap penalty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,122 ✭✭✭Shehal

    Try Benetton.

Alright Ulster on you're bike as ,once again , they have contributed absolutely nothing to this game.

If this continues McFarland may start facing scrutiny as I dont know what's happened but Ulster have been unbelievably bad the last month or so, they made Munster URC start seem okay in comparison.

Ulster's only real hope here is if Benetton are dumb enough or ill-diciplined enough to gift them enough chances to get back into this game.

Ulster are a demoralised team. I doubt players are up to it to be honest,

TBF they've got a chance here now - Stewart is good off these mauls.

Boom - penalty try given as well, plus a yellow.

It was the right call - they were going over.

    They've responded well here.

    Well done Ulster

Edit: Oh dear, great comeback, pity they couldn’t hold on at the end.

And they've shot themselves in the foot by giving away a really sloppy and kickable offside penalty.

    Good comeback to be fair.

    Great strike from Rhyno Smith.

Ulster need to dig deep again.

Incredible. After looking like stealing a victory from jaws of defeat they then concede a penalty as utterly brainless and needless as that. Just show's Ulster's head is not in this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,122 ✭✭✭Shehal

It is justice though, Ulster deserve nothing from the game so to get a win would really be a crime.

They nearly got it - great tackle on Baloucoune in the corner, but Stewart Moore guilty of eating up the space.

Absolutely super break from Michael Lowry to give them the field position.

    Game over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,122 ✭✭✭Shehal

Justice in the end, Ulster were embarrassing for the majority of the game and to concede a penalty as dumb as they did at the end confirms that they deserved to lose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,122 ✭✭✭Shehal

On the whole also the amount of soft offside pen's they concede is a massive concerned. How many times do the opposition attack off the set piece or ruck are Ulster found offside immediately without even trying to get onside? The first try that swung the momentum to Benetton and their winning penalty at the end.

    Bell out

TBF Beneton are a decent enough side at the moment, scored some nice trys.

And viewed in isolation, this might be a valid point.

But when you combine the result today with the performance of Ulster today, and the performance of Ulster ever since half time in the Leinster game, you can see that there is a serious crisis at the moment. We are absolutely rubbish and there are no excuses for this any more.

Change is needed at Ulster, this season is now a write-off.
