Hi I drive a 171 D Toyota Versa - Diesel - I got a letter from Toyota 28/10/22 that car recalled to replace EGR cooler and I should take to local toyota dealer. So I took it to Denis O'Mahony off the m50 in November. Since the work was done to replace EGR cooler - I have no signal on the radio, the economy mode no longer comes on at traffic lights when car stopped and engine running. And the beep sound that I crossing a white line when driving - seems to only work sometimes. These were 100% all working before EGR cooler replaced. The car has just 70km millage and is like new. I took car back to Denis O'Mahony mid December - they said replacing EGR cooler could not cause issues I'm having ... They not going to help me resolve issues unless I pay myself...

What should I do ? Or any person have similar experience and how resolved ? Thanks..

I did and took back to Toyota garage today. They again saying my issues not related to recall and asking to. put in a new battery (180 euro) to solve eco issue and replace the whole headset on the radio cost 800 euro. So I need. to pay. at least 980 to get my car back to condition I sent it into the garage for the recall. The customer service guy said I could not prove the car did not have these issues when taken in for recall. But I'm 100% certain I did not have these issues. Do I pay the money to fix issues or. what can I do ? I phoned/emailed Toyota Ireland but getting no response.

my car is still in Denis Mahony & I just phoned to see if they tried a new battery and if this resolved issues. They said they tried this it resolved economy issue but not resolve radio issue. On goodwill - garage said they give me radio head unit at cost but still probably be 850 + 200 for a new battery. I will need to pay this amount to get my car back to the state it was when I dropped it into garage for recall repair.

Got a letter emailed from Toyota today => attached

They say they will do nothing for my issues - which were. 100% caused by Recall. Any advice please ? Thks

Main issue is radio => The radio works - but signal not good - so as signal goes and come's the volume on the radio will go up and down - very annoying to be listening to when driving. In some locations e.g Mullingar town the radio would not pick up any station...

I moved thread here as one of replies advised me so to get more replies...

My thinking was that I gave my car to Toyota to do the recall and two people can swear that radio was perfectly working - and immediately when returned. those two people can swear radio had current issues - I thought Toyota had responsibility to at least give back car in condition they got it - but maybe this thinking incorrect and unfortunately things happen as in this case and not much can be done, but I just fix them...What people think?? Thks

Keep it in one thread and car detailing is not the place for these types of questions. Closing thread.
