Running TV power cable in stud wall

I'm looking at installing all cables for a TV setup inside the plasterboard stud wall. I'm getting conflicting information online though (mostly american) is it ok to run a power cable through it. I asked my buddy he's a spark and said it would be "grand" but that's his answer to everything! Put it in conduit if your worried he said also.

Is it a fire hazard?

If it’s t&e cable in a stud wall then no extra mechanical protection is required

Im not talking about electrical cable, I'm talking about the power cable for the TV, from back of TV straight to socket. It would be twin and earth though

do you really wanna go down that road, as tv's have a tendency of eventually dying a death, needing replacement?

My thoughts are are you can have wires in a large conduit as you might need another one and oops not installed.

My kitchen install was on cement wall and on a box panel was water pipes and ran my cables through that to a module panel where connections are needed.

2 hdmi

twin 13amp socket

sat feed

saorview feed

lan cable.

If hiding cables allow a big opening to add or change cables if they go faulty.

I would not be running tv cables on inside but on external sockets.

Yes but it's highly likely that any new TV would use the same two pin mains plug.

true, but what if they dont! what if it results in requiring to only be able to purchase tv's with this type of plug?

mate installed long scart lead into wall, tv on another wall in the room from stb, this is now causing problems with newer stb's, to the point, hes no longer able to connect them to the tv!

That's not totally true. There are many different types of power connectors for TV's from figure 8 to 3 pin. Some LG TV's in fact have a integrated cable that is hard fixed to the power board (specifically some of not all their OLED models.

Rule of thumb is never install cables (network/Internet, hdmi, audio, etc) with the intension of them being viable forever. Always allow an upgrade path.
