Reconnect Doorbell help

Hi

I am looking for some guidance in relation to reconnecting this doorbell that came off.

I see that there are 2 wires on the bell. A red and a black. It looks like the black broke off

Q1 - Why is there 4 wires on the wall? I see a yellow and a blue?

Q2 - do I simply ignore the yellow and blue wires?

Q3 - Assuming I can ignore the yellow and blue wires, is the process to switch off the main power at the box (trip switch), then strip the black wire a little on the wall to reveal the metallic part of the wire, then just screw it back to the bell?

Q1: most probably because the electrician had 4 core cable at the time. Think of it this way, you have a spare set of cables.

Q2: yes. Ignore the 2 spare cores.

Q3: no need to switch off power. It's either12 or 24 volts.

Yes, just ignore the blue and yellow wires, the cable contains 4 wires and only two were used.

No need to turn anything off, it's low voltage probably 8-12V, 24V max. You'll get no shock off it and even if you touch both wires together accidentally, all that will happen is that the bell will ring :)

Those screws are well rusted though, so I'd take the opportunity to replace the bell push completely, they're pretty cheap.
