Up early this morning with confirmation that I'm working New Years Eve. Like lots of us. A decent earner due to eejits partying. I'll take it!

Popped up to a well known local farm shop this morning for some cucumber pickle and red pepper relish. A few pints this evening and a serious beef casserole. My grandmother's recipe passed on from my mother. We all milled it. I may put it on the menu next week.

Getting out of the house soon !

I'm definitely going to have a tranquil Christmas in the middle of nowhere.

The whole area is called Al-Ula. The sister city of Petra located in northern Saudi Arabia. The placed is packed with tourists escaping the European winter.
