    You may (?) only be joking but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he puts in some trumpette. Junior or the chinless wonder that is kuschner. I mean, whoever is (eventually) installed will simply be a mouthpiece. And God knows trump had enough of those wastes of space floating about. Does anyone REALLY think he's going to get a competent CEO who will bring stability to the platform and draw back advertisers? Or do they think he's going to continue to throw allegations at people who question him and then throw his toys out of the pram.


    God, the GOP must hate that he wasn't born in the US. Imagine: The perfect GOP candidate: A middle-aged male white thin-skinned billionaire.... Who is ALSO, technically, an African American.

    But no, I think you are right. I think when (if) he instates a new CEO, it will be somebody we know and someone with no experience in such a position. We won't know who it is until the time but as soon as they are announced it will be a case of "Yep..... Of course it is. Here we go."

    If we're being charitable, I suppose it's entirely possible that Musk could take the time to learn how Web Development has changed in the 20-odd years since he last worked in that industry. He might discover that oh hey, MicroServices are not inherently bad and are how a lot of modern backend stacks are built. It's entirely possible he has the capacity to recognise the limitations of his own knowledge, and either defer to senior figures to take charge, or he crams and joins the 2020s.

    Now, given Musk's staggering determination to publicise his persona and insecurities to the world, not to mention his apparent Helicopter Management style? What we've seen of the man means it reads ... unlikely he has the ability to be contrite over the ceiling of his own technical knowledge. It's not an outrageous thing to say IMO that people get more stubborn and closed-off as they age; Musk's 50+ now, and IT moves fast. But if he wanted Twitter to pivot over to ... I dunno, some giant monolith service in the BE if nothing else he might struggle to find the expertise to do that (and do it well).

    Yeah wouldn't be surprised to see him offer it to Kushner or someone similar purely out of spite. I suspect he'll be receiving a flurry of messages from all sorts of shady characters who want to twist Twitter into a far-right platform.

    Isn't Devin Nunes CEO of Truth Social? Would a Twitter-TS takeover/merger be possible?

    Keep the Twitter branding and users and absorb the TS ones. Have Nunes take over as CEO to sweeten the deal for Trump. Musk can claim Nunes as a candidate with social media CEO experience (however little) and try to lure Trump back to Twitter.

    If he was wise he'd hand this off to someone else to run and do a SpaceX on it and cosplay the genius inventor while someone else does the "boring business stuff". The new chief can undo some of the damage without Musk looking like he's doing more 180s. It won't fool most people, but it might be enough to keep his remaining fanboys.

    Genuine question - has he actually done anything constructive or useful since he took over? He had plenty of time to think of things to fix in the months leading up to the acquisition, and has had two months of insider knowledge, so even given he's a megalomaniac, surely he's done something right?

    The short answer is no.

    He has not done a thing to make Twitter more profitable and sustainable.

    Some would claim that he has done wonders for "free speech" and "owning the libs" which might be true through some peoples rose tinted lens , but neither of those pays the bills which with all the extra debt he has saddled the company with is Musks single most important challenge.

    Even with rose tinted lenses, there isn't a valid argument that he has done anything net positive for free speech. Anything he has 'given' in one hand, like unbanning racists, he has taken away with the other, like banning journalists.

    Similarly, he has owned himself far more than any 'libs' - it is like buying a shop and not liking certain customers and then claiming to 'own' them by setting fire to it.

    Anything that could be seen as constructive or useful is negated, if not dwarfed, by him hurting it in other ways.
