i'd say cotters. Theyre the main shop for tyres as far as im aware, so thats something a biker always needs

Do you know if they do vouchers? I just called and they're closed Sunday and Monday... getting a bit close to Christmas 😣

Megabikes in Wexford St. sell some top end gear that any motorcyclist would appreciate!

I'd go for Bikeworld myself. Was in there Christmas eve twice before too

Motorcycleshop.ie is pretty good for online stuff, big selection of items and free delivery if you spend over €50 (which is basically your oil and filters for a basic service!). It's the online side of Lee Honda in Cork.

Scott's Bikes of Harold's X are fine too for stuff, altho Stefen's stock is maybe more limited these days. His price on relevant bits and pieces seems good enough. Moto4U in Rathfarnham seem reasonable enough too.

They have all price levels .I got a jacket and helmet there cheaper than anywhere else i saw.

But what helmet and jacket? I tried to buy a helmet there and it was over €100 more than the RRP...

Unfortunately the Irish motorcycle scene is too small and there seems to be a lack of competition... Anyone gouging on price will ultimately loose out to the internet and the real losers will be Irish riders...

Are prices gone up excessively on everything?

Just looking on motorcycleshop there and a charger I bought a year ago is now 22% dearer.

Motorcycleshop have become very uncompetitive for most items including tyres. You now have to ring to get a price. I have called them 3 times this week to get a price for a set of tyres and each time I was told that they were busy but would call me back. Some hope of that. In the past pre covid I would have and did recommend them to one and all but not anymore. All of their prices have increased alarmingly. I have always compared prices on most purchases pre covid and 95% of the time I would have bought from them. Now I find it is the opposite. High prices and a couple of staff who do not want to be there are my reasons for shopping elsewhere.

Yes and no. Was looking online for new trousers. Wasn't sure of the sizing so popped into the Wexford St shop. Got a pair Alpinestars Andes V2 Drystar trousers for €120. Tried online for the exact same and nowhere is coming close. Plus I was I was 2 sizes out which is a pain if buying online. Nice to support local bike shops also.
