    Traditionally a day us Dubs would stay well clear of the city centre due to the invasion of those not fortunate enough to live in our nations capital 🤣

    Yes but you avoided it for far too long. Long after it ceased to be a big shopping day for rural folk, Dubliners continued to avoid the centre and then it was actually one of the quietest days, if memory serves me correctly, in 2016 it wasn't even in the top 15 days in December in terms of city centre footfall. Nowadays, when it's a weekday it's mainly locals rather than out-of-towners shopping.

    All kidding aside, with the construction of so many out of town shopping centres, such as Liffey Valley, The Square in Tallaght, Blanchardstown, Pavillions in Swords etc less & less people within the greater Dublin area needed to come in to the city centre so overall footfall being down is no great surprise, but in saying that I take your point and it actually doesn't surprise me at all.

    Anyway, we're going off topic. for the thread.... apologies!
