The thing about this crap argument , if that was the other way around , France would have absolutely went the same way about it. Probably would have been the 33rd team. Henry wasn't a disgrace , most would do what he did. The officials were.

Henry admits hand ball, but blames the referee. Who people think should have eyesight that can see through walls. Thank goodness again for VAR. The players are so dishonest that referees have to decide numerous times in every game whether they fell over or were fouled. All in the blink of an eye. Never mind their blatant dishonesty in claiming that throw ins should be for them, when they put the ball over the sideline.

Dishonesty comes with the passion. I dont think you get to have both the drama and passion that is unmatched in any other sport and also not see players do anything they can to win at all costs.

Rugby Union has the same passion and drama without the crap.

Golf is a great sport with none of the dishonesty.

American football, Basketball, Baseball, Rugby league and many more sports have the passion and exhilaration without the cheating and dishonesty.

People are coached to do all these things, young kids are exposed to things they shouldn't be at football academies.

If there was a proper structure in place for development of young people in the sport you wouldn't have this stuff going on.

    Huh?

Two Argentina full backs suspended for semi.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

And to complete the trio they have demanded Neymar is the referee.

Jaysus I love how some think the only sport in the world with passion is soccer or of course as some would term it football.

And as for cheating, Rugby has been fooking full of it.

It is only in the last few years that NZ has been pulled up on their perennial cheating, which coincidentally is when we start having wins against them.

FFS they won a world cup final in NZ through cheating and worse still the complicit refs helped them.

Also why not look up The Hand of Back to see how Leicester cheated against Munster to win a HC.

Or look up the blood substitute cheating.

    Baseball you say.

Ever hear of Barry Bonds the home runs title holder who was so linked to the taking of animal steroids.

The fans used to greet him with moos at the end as a pointer to his cheating.

They said Babe Ruth did it on beer and burgers whereas Barry Bonds did it on steroids.

American football and basketball at college level have had lots of cheating linked to it.

Part of it is falsfying academic records so that players can keep playing.

Don't ever fool yourself that there aren't some competitors in every sport that will try and cheat to win.

It is is just harder to get away with in some sports.

Top golf or tennis are ones that I would reckon are hard to cheat in.

I expect the nasty Argies to come through this evening, mainly because Croatia's attack has been as blunt as a hammer for all their matches except against the fairly poor Canada.

I'm ok with that as I'd prefer to see Argentina hopefully mauled by France in the final whom I see overcoming Morocco who have racked up too many injuries at this stage imo (and are not easy on the eye, in fact quite the opposite and for me are beginning to stink out the place at this point) and likely to fall foul of Griezmann et al enjoying the space left by tracking Mbappe everywhere (see England game) or just Mbappe being too good anyways

Hopefully France won't pick up any injuries as with the pre-tournament ones they had they are a little short on depth in a couple of areas.

"Classy" Argies celebration vs the Dutch last Friday.

    Good image in fairness.

As regards performance enhancing drugs I think it's a given that they are in every sport these days.

They were both as bad as each other in fairness. The Dutch players acting up to the Argentine players as they were taking penalties was as bad.

    not for me.

Parades really kicked it off booting the ball into the Dutch dugout deliberately (after completely cynically slicing down a Dutch player who was on the attack).

How the ref didn't send that guy off for the combination of those two offences is beyond me - but then again the same ref didn't yellow Messi for a completely deliberate hand-ball right in front of him a while earlier.

It's Argentina who are being charged for disorder - not the Netherlands

(both teams are separately under article 12 automatically due to getting 5 or more yellows)

And most Irish people were embarrassed by the team 33 nonsense. Why, when one French person or team does something, the French did nothing wrong, but when one Irish person does something, we all disgraced ourselves! 🙄

Morooco are one of the four best teams in the world according to the Morocco manager.

He better lay off the magic space couscous I think.

If that referee was a doctor he’d have been struck off after a performance like that.

Obviously there is something of bad feeling between the Dutch and The Argentina team going back a ways… but there is a manner you conduct yourself and a manner not to…. The Argentina reaction was a team reaction not one or two players…it looked organised…a team who felt aggrieved over some previous between the teams….so there is seemingly an attitude within their camp, which is unsportsmanlike, unkind, grimy…. Not caring that the eyes of the world are on them…Dutch fans etc…

you can pay sportspeople millions, give them praise, accolades, medals and so on….but you cant buy class…

they’ll have enough for Croatia… is my feeling…. But fúck, this Orsato ref better be on it tonight….or I’ll not be happy… he’s a FIFA listed ref for well over a decade and refereeing for over 20… Serie A, so experienced…. As regards facing dark arts.

I wonder has Ronnie Whelan recovered after the devastating loss of England (for him) the other night....

He sounds ok....will he be feeling sorry for anyone tonight?

He refereed Argentina already against Mexico, and the Qatar Ecuador game. One yellow to Argentina in the Mexico match. They had been very quiet on the yellow card front, just 2 in their 4 games before Holland.

In fairness, Messi did something equally amazing with three guys marking him a couple of minutes later.

Croatia dominating the ball, without creating a lot.

Its not going to be a classic anyway.

If the croats can find a finishing touch they might just sneak it.

    Cometh the hour …..

Jaysus, that was another soft penalty for Argentina - he just ran into the goalie. Poor decision surely, why no review? Got one in the quarters as well where they just ran into a defenders feet, it was that game wasn't it?

Well that will get the game going.

But Croatia don't really have many goals in them imo so need to not go 2 down or they are gone for sure.

    Lets go argentina
