Removing motion sensor from very old Eircom Phonewatch

I bought this house ~5 years ago so the current alarm is an Eircom Phonewatch that could be ~15 years old. It still works fine, but we never use the motion sensors, and doing up the sitting room in the next few days and wondering can I remove the motion sensor in that room without causing issues? Plan to have it replaced with something modern next year.

You can remove the motion. When you open the device it will cause an alarm. Unset the system. If your not putting the device back up after refitting the cover put the device into a draw or something like that

If you drop the front lid and enter 54321 does it say, please select form start menu.

If so you can delete the sensor if not been used again.

I went for the brute force approach and just ripped it from the wall....worked a treat 😂

Hahaha there is also that way but if its causing an issue try the above to remove it completely from the system.

If it doesn't say that, what happens? I'm not running the risk of the thing going off if I open the lid?

If you drop the lid, put in 54321 and it still says, please enter code then its been changed.

Close up the lid and then it will just go back to normal.
